I always found MASH (the film) to be incredibly unfunny and I couldn't understand anyone who thought it was funny.

MASH (the film) benefited from its era and its style, and from the cult of personality around Robert Altman.

I was at a video industry trade show around 2002 or so, where Altman was on a panel, and before it started I turned to a friend and said 'It will only take him three questions before he dovetails his answer into 'the suits never made me do it my way' act.

Lame.
