Oh please...to equate abortion to slavery is wrong, it's vile and insulting.
How can you say that? Did you read the article, or are you a troll!! Get out of here you lame troll!
Sure, there are lots of similarities - for starters they are both, well, vile and insulting to the sensibilities of civilized humans.
Thanks for bringing that point up Hildy.
I may be wrong, but doesn't the central legal argument concerning abortion revolve around the question of whether an unborn child is a person or property?
You are absolutely right!
As evil and inhumane as slavery is, the person still has a glimmer of hope. He is still alive.
Not so with the butchered infant, all hope is permanently extinguished for them.
Absolutely right. Slaveholders never ripped their slaves' arms and legs off, nor did they suck their slaves' brains out of their skulls, nor did they put their dead bodies in jars and throw them into landfills.
Abortion is much worse than slavery. It is insulting to compare the two -- insulting to slaveholders.
Show me one slaveholder who ever said his purpose was to "exterminate" the black race. Margaret Sanger said exactly that -- and she didn't even favor abortion, at least not publicly. She only founded the organization that went on to become the largest abortion provider in the US.
Danielle Parker, the 16-year-old author, clearly shows abortion and slavery draw upon the same principle that the enslaved/aborted are not really people as defined by the law and are property to which the owner can do whatever they wish.
How is the statement vile and insulting? It makes a valid point by showing how they both devalue human life to "property".
