Posted on 03/09/2006 7:58:40 AM PST by Vintage1
// NASA is planning to make a huge announcement today, about possible life in our own solar system. Exact details of what we can expect to hear have not been released. We do know that evidence has been found that could point to life relatively close to the earth.... No other information at this time

They have these "possible life!" shows every year. It's all for funding.

Drudge loves to hype stuff in order to draw people to his website.

When people are disappointed by the announcement, I fully expect them to blame NASA instead of morons like Drudge. True, a lot of people will not understand the true significance of actually finding liquid Water on another planet/moon, etc.
I have to admit that every time I hear the "Big announcement" thing I secretly hope that this is the one that contains the word "Conclusive".
That said, every discovery, every bit of information, etc is a step closer to understanding and expanding our knowledge base.

NASA has gotten a well deserved reputation for publicity stunts. Are they sending another school teacher or Senator into space?
Hmm. Actually, they might be onto something.

Certainly the spinoffs have been enriching in a number of ways and I think they have been well worth it.
However, I don't trust NASA any more than I trust the NSA or Billdo and Shrillery Klintoon.
I once had a connection to a source who ended up on a base where they saw a silent egg shaped craft hovering a few feet above the concrete gliding into a well guarded hanger with a NASA logo clearly on it.
That kind of secrecy is reasonable to a point.
But there seems to have been some . . . very questionable stuff along the way. I think I'll stop there. LOL.

Couldn't be Muslims. They would have already bombed the Martian Irrigation Canals.
