Noah's Flood did not happen. The evidence regarding that is clear. Not only is it an impossibility, but there is abundant evidence that rules it out completely.
Was there a localized flood that spawned this legend, along with the Gilgamesh epic? I'd guess so. Maybe it was the Black Sea rupture, but that's just a guess. Something happened early in human history that gave rise to these legends.
But for those who insist that Genesis and every other book of the bible is to be taken literally, nothing less will suffice. They are willing to suspend reality in order justify their belief.
