For those freepers who pray, am requesting prayer for my 12-yo daughter who was in a bike accident yesterday afternoon. She has been diagnosed with damage to her pancreas and moved to pediatric intensive care.
We don't know yet the extent of the damage. There are two scenarios that lead to surgery and one that leads to hospitalization and watching and letting her recover on her own. So we're praying for that but we just don't know at this point.
Her mom is at the hospital with her, they spent the night in the emergency room and as mentioned have now been moved to ped intensive care.
They will be doing a test shortly to assess the extent of the damage, we should know more after that.

I remember when my stepson was 12 he had a skateboard accident. That was terrifying. I will keep you in my prayers and know she will be just fine.
Renewed prayers. Lord, please bring this girl safely through her surgery, and please let her fully recover from these injuries.

12-year olds are resilient as all get out, and an PICU is always staffed by very talented and dedicated professionals with some of the best medical technology in the West. Your daughter couldn't be in better hands, and I hope for her swift recovery.
No problem with part of the spleen removed. As long as she has a bit left, she'll never notice. The duct work on the pancreas is the issue--hopefully that will all work well after the procedure. Ask the ped and the surgeon...all good blessings to your family.
