I am very much moved to find 5 dozen messages waiting from people who are praying for my daughter and family.

Update:

I talked to my wife a few minutes ago. The news is definitely not as good as we had hoped. In fact, of the 3 possible scenarios, I think we are looking at the least desirable scenario.

It appears that the main duct to the pancreas has ruptured, and they are going to have to go in and do surgery to remove part of the pancreas and part of the spleen as well.

I have no idea of the long-term ramifications of this surgery or of whether it means that she will end up a diabetic for the rest of her life or what. I just don't know.

I guess this is really a test for our family, and a real test of faith for me. We've been through so much over the past 5 years. Just a few years ago I was majorly depressed to a point far beyond desperation due to our financial situation. Now finally it's looked like we had broken through all of the horribly difficult times to a life that was turning more wonderful all the time, and now this comes along.

Anyway, I'm still praying for the best results we can get, and the best life we can have, and I'm pretty determined that whatever happens I'll do my best to deal with it and go on. But I really appreciate all of your prayers.

I don't know what's going to happen from here. I may be offline quite a bit. Will update when I can. Thanks again for your prayers, I feel they are very much needed and very much appreciated.

Father Lord we pray for this young lady that You will touch and heal her quickly, if she needs surgery that you will guide the surgeon's hands. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Luke...

He has lived a normal healthy life...

That's a helpful thought, but more than the spleen I'm really about the pancreas and possibilities of having a whole life of diabetes.

Luke, take hold of the situation. The most important thing you can do right mow is provide the strength and love she needs.
Don't allow her to see your faith in her or GOD shaken as it can adversly affect her attitude. Just show her you love her and care.
GOD bless.
