Tournament of the Presidents

Grand Valley State University has been conducting a Tournament of the Presidents over the last several weeks, and they are down to the semi-finals. The 4 Presidents left in the tournament are: Washington vs Lincoln, & FDR vs Reagan; at this moment Lincoln leads Washington 57% - 43%, and FDR leads Reagan 60%-40%. I thouoght it might be nice to freep this tourny/poll.

Washington 47% - Lincoln 53%
Reagan 45% - FDR 55%

Nice to see Clinton went nowhere.

And Clinton got a first round bye?? What's that all about? First round byes ought to be for the top seeds...George Washington, Lincoln, FDR, and Reagan are first round bye material. Not even Truman should've gotten one...and I think Truman was a good man.

Truman wasn't that good. He started the US policy of limited war (police action) designed not to win but only tie at best.
He did show fortitude in using the A-bomb on Japan, the Marshal plan and NATO, but he was a socialist Demorat nonetheless.

I agree, but I'm not really crazy about FDR - most of the social programs that have bloated the federal government were seeded by that administration.
