I can't stand the political climate of Illinois. The GOP is useless as ever, and the Dumocrats are worse than ever. I wish my GF didn't like it here so much so I could move the f*** out! i wish I could got to Indiana or Missouri!

Oberweis has my vote. I feel he is our best chance to win.
To: Richard from IL
Vote for Oberweis Including you and me that's at least two votes he will get.
I hope he wins. Topinka is almost as bad as it gets.

He has my vote. I feel that stopping Topinka is even more important than stopping Blago.

I agree 100% with you about Topinka. We have to do whatever it takes for her not to become our next Governor.
To: All
Is there any difference between Topinka and any Democrat in the Chicagoland area? Besides the (R) that is.

It's too bad Oberweis is an idiot. Topinka wins as three conservatives split the vote.
To: LdSentinal
Vote oberwies, the worst thing that can possibly happen is Topinka wins the governors general election. Then theres no way any conservative candidate will have a chance til 2014.

Does anybody care that Idi Amin (I mean John Stroger) may get re-elected to Cook County Board President again? This piece of trash raised every tax and fee he could get his hands on. He did more to cause financial distress to me and my family than Governor Blago. The worst part about it is that he may be dead or unable to perform his duties after the election due to several recent strokes. If he is elected it will be in the primary (no chance for a Pubbie to win) over a squeaky clean out of the Democratic Machine Forrest Claypool. If he does win, and can't take office, the dims get to pick his successor. The county board merely rubber stamps all budgets put forward by the Machine backed President, and they ALWAYS raise taxes and fees to pay for idiotic new spending programs and to close 'budget shortfalls' that happen every year. Remember the Governor has to pass legislation, however stupid, through the state house and senate... the County Board President has no such check or balance, and can raise your property taxes and fees higher and faster than the Governor can.
I URGE ALL COOK COUNTY REPUBLICANS TO PICK A DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY BALLOT AND VOTE FOR CLAYPOOL.
The race for governor is over, no poll shows enough support for any candidate challenging the RINO Judy Barr Topinka. Forget the Governors race until the general election. JBT will beat Blago and it will be a small step up. NONE of the good conservative candidates will win the primary... don't waste your vote, and DO cast a vote in a race that matters. The County Board has much more effect on your day to day lives in Cook County than the Governor in Springfield does.

Gidwitz is NOT a conservative.
To: mrexitement
The governors race is NOT over. Remember December 2003, when the mouth from Vermont was supposed to have the Dem Presidential nomination in the bag.
To: Richard from IL
It is done. A fragmented conservative base splitting votes between 3 candidates will ensure JBT's victory. Dean was ahead in some polls in some states, but not this late in the game. If Blago and Stroger lose it is a small and the only victory the GOP can get. Remember this party is in a shambles in this State. If Oberweis (who will not win the primary OR the general election for that matter) loses to Blago and Stroger gets re-elected it is a disaster.
Please don't give me this lose on principal nonsense either... we need to look at the reality of the situation and take what we can get. In another 8 or 12 years we might have a shot at a conservative winning the Governorship, but the GOP needs to rebuild in Illinois before that can happen.

Voting for Oberweis here. Wish I could vote for Brady (the downstater and NON-Chicago-an in the mix), but I want Topinka OUT more than I want Brady IN.
