Neither of these are capital offenses, however disgusting and reprehensible. If he was guilty of them it should have been for a court to decide his fate, not his wife and a weapon. Plus, she shot him in the back....so there goes her self defense argument.
I'm inclined to agree. But if,by chance,he *was* engaged in some kind of serious abuse then that abuse could be seen as a mitigating factor regarding exactly what she's guilty of and what punishment she should get.
In fact, nobody knows what *really* happened, other than the guy is dead and the wife has confessed.I,personally, think her lawyer will use the abuse defense or the mental illness defense. The evidence he presents to back up these claims will decide what she deserves,IMO.
"Plus, she shot him in the back....so there goes her self defense argument."
Well, I suspect she shot him in the back because she was afraid of him, and what he would do if she tried to shoot him in the front where he could see what she was about to do. You know, there's something wrong with this picture. These two had 2 kids of 7-8 years of age and a 1 year old. This isn't a woman with a criminal past. She was a pastor's wife who had been married to him for some time. Something big had to have happened or had been happening right along for her to have plugged him. Well, we'll soon know.
