McKinney: Race sparked tiff with police

Lawmaker faces possible charges after allegedly striking officer

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Georgia, faces possible criminal charges for a Wednesday altercation with a Capitol Police officer, one of her lawyers said Friday that the real issues were "sex, race and Ms. McKinney's progressiveness."

In a news conference featuring actor Danny Glover and singer Harry Belafonte, McKinney said she would be exonerated and that "this whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female, black congresswoman."

She had little else to say, citing the ongoing investigation into her allegedly striking a police officer after he failed to recognize her at a security checkpoint and tried to stop her from passing.

One Republican congressman dismissed the star-studded news conference. "Rep. McKinney appearing with the star of "Lethal Weapon"? Not exactly the message you want to be sending," said Ron Bonjean, spokesman for House Speaker Dennis Hastert.

Anyone who wants to let Ms. McKinney know how they feel about her discriminatory sexist, racist remarks can do so at http://www.house.gov/mckinney/guest.htm.

Just trying to help us all get along! :)

Absolutely amazing.

Every lowlife scumbag trick in the book. The race card AND the gender card.

In addition the scumbags (McKinney and her lawyers) have tried to turn it around to where the cop assaulted her.

And he touched her inappropriately? Did he touch her breasts? Did he touch her genitals or buttocks? (Oooooh, yuck!) The story I read said he grabbed her arm after she refused three verbal requests to stop.

And what is it that makes the ringy beeyoch refuse to wear her Congressional ID pin? A delusional belief of her importance which leads her to think she should be recognized by everyone? How come we haven't heard that the evil, racist, sexist, pervert cop is a Jooooooo?

The cop who stopped her didn't realize she was a Congresswoman...but he stopped her because of her "progressiveness"? Something doesn't compute.

This incident will no doubt inspire another 12-part series in The New York Times about the pervasiveness of white racism in America.

Should any possible security tape be released now to shut her up, or should she be allowed to dig a lot more before she's buried with the evidence? Keeping the tape secret should not be an option.

In a news conference featuring actor Danny Glover and singer Harry Belafonte...

That detail brings this story perilously close to a Scrappleface level of satire. ;)

'Members of Congress are allowed to bypass the metal detectors and security checkpoint. They are supposed to wear a lapel pin that identifies them as lawmakers. McKinney acknowledges she wasn't wearing one when she was stopped, but concurred with Myart that police should know who she is.'

'"The pin is not the issue," the six-time congresswoman said. "The issue is face recognition."'

Capitol security staff are supposed to have 535 faces memorized? Most voters wouldn't recognize their own congressman.

Why do congresscritters get to bypass security anyway, even if they are wearing a lame pin? Do they think they are special or something? She obviously thinks she's extra-special.

The skank changed her hair to look like Bozo the clown, and she is SHOCKED she is not recognized. What an idiot. And the POS from Georgia will still elect her elitist fat ass back to congress.

McKinney is the female version of Marion Barry (former Washington DC Mayor and crack addict). Play the race card and hawk the black vote, by preying on their paranoia and racism.

"On January 18, 1990, Barry was arrested with a former girlfriend, Hazel "Rasheeda" Moore, in a sting operation at the Vista Hotel by the FBI and D.C. Police for crack cocaine use and possession. The incident – played over and over on television – produced what is perhaps the most memorable quote of Barry's long career: "Goddamn setup . . . I'll be goddamn . . . bitch set me up." This quote refers to Rasheeda Moore.

Barry was charged with three counts of felony perjury, 10 counts of misdemeanor drug possession, and one misdemeanor count of conspiracy to possess cocaine; however, he was convicted only of a single previous misdemeanor count of possessing cocaine in November 1989. He was acquitted on one possession charge and a mistrial was declared on the 12 remaining charges.

As a result of his arrest and the ensuing trial, Barry was forced to step down from his position as mayor. In the midst of his campaign for a city council seat, Barry was sentenced to a six-month federal prison term in October 1990."

I hope McKinney is arrested and charged. Would she rather that a look-a-like saunter in with a bomb?? McKinney is truly an idiot and an embarrassment.

Look, why is the black community represented by a majority of jackass*s? There are really smart, great black people in these communities, why aren't they winning elections? That is really the question that needs to be asked.

The stupid, ignorant, McKinney's of the world couldn't care less about the status of the black community, that is the real shame of it all. They are in it for themselves.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis F. are not the best and brightest, they are just the best exploiters.

A few observations:

1. Belafonte and Glover have nothing else better to do? Oh, that's right, they're washed up. And besides, they share some of the same whacked-out theories with Cynthia.

2. What's up with the hair?

3. Where's Al and Jesse when you want some comic relief? I guess they had some corporate shakedowns to attend to.

4. Inappropriate touching? Who would want to touch that hag. If the cop has to lay his hands on that hideous woman, he should have bitch slapped her.

5. Don't want to have an altercation with the police? How about complying with their requests to go through the metal detector in the first place instead of acting like you are so above it all?!!! Remember Rodney King? I doubt he would have been beaten if he hadn't led the police on a drug-induced high speed chase and then assaulted the arresting officers. Ever wonder what that model citizen has done since his five minutes? I'll give you a hint; he has amassed a rap sheet longer than all of the lines of coke he has ever snorted placed end to end.

6. What's up with that hair? (That deserved a second mention.)

While people around the country outside of Georgia may be laughing at this incident and finding it amazing that anyone would elect such a fool - the perverse fact is that this little dust up will probably enhance her standing with voters in her district.

You are probably right. You should have heard some of the rhetoric in the Mayoral Campaign in Detroit. Words that to an outsider sounded like they might hurt a candidate actually helped him.

Well, yeah, SURE! There are only 435 of them so the policeman should have known it was a Congresscritter. /S

Why do liberals and socialist hate those that put their lives on the line to protect them? Kerry on the slopes cursing the Secret Service agent he ran into, our troops being compared to terrorist while serving their country and now Capitol police doing their job are physically assaulted... I see a common thread in the fabric of these America haters. They can't stand those that will sacrifice all for this great nation, it's citizens and it's leaders.

>>>my problem is why is it just her..not maxine waters..not charlie rangel..not william jefferson..inquiring minds want to know..

McKinney is supportive of Able Danger, she showed up to the hearings, asked a lot of questions. GOOD questions. The left blog world put out in their grapevine that she asked too many questions.

Also during Katrina, McKinney called out Nancy Pelusa and other Democrats for turning their backs.

She is not a friend of the Dem Elite.

I'm waiting on these security tapes myself. Remember, hClinton said they were going to target Congresspeople that didn't fall in line.
