Terrorists know how to game the system. Janice Kephart, former counsel to the 9/11 Commission, released a study last year on how easily terrorists obtain immigration benefits. Of 94 alien terrorists in the United States, she found that 59 were successful immigration frauds. That includes six of the 9/11 hijackers. The Senate bill does nothing to address this problem - while throwing a massive new load on the bureaucracy. A new amnesty will almost certainly ensure that more terrorists gain the legal right to walk our streets.
They will no doubt show their appreciation by attacking innocent Americans.
The GOP better get on the stick and get real about criminals (yeah, that's what people are called when they break our laws) coming across the border...

The Enemy Within are in the US Senate. In a more sane and just age, they would have been dragged into the street, beaten, tarred and feathered, and run out of town. That is CORRECT! Too bad we live in post-PC America.

For that gem, they didn't even bother to debate, let alone read it! They just took it, and voted it in, just like that.
Contrast this with the painfully protracted "debate" over the stuff regarding Terri Schindler. While dragging it out, arguing over every jot and tittle -- crossing their fingers and hoping she'd just die already to let them off the hook ... Good point!
I had forgotten how the (democrats) forced those little changes on the repubbies, all the while pretending to "let it pass" = So the repubbies would get blamed for falling to pressure from "the religious right" .

"Living off of the system?" Of course! One of the 5 kids is ill with cancer [unless it's a lie to get out of work] and the state will bear the cost. Her parents force her to work while they stay home and do nothing. She is totally irresponsible and cannot keep a job which is her way of getting out of working. They remind me of gypsies. They find places where many of them can live in one place and spread out from there making neighborhoods uninhabitable for others.
Thankfully I live in a small town outside of a large town so the problem is not severe here. The news from the larger town is horrible. Something needs to be done and NOW not in months or years. But, we know that, our government sadly does not! BTW these are not illegal.....it's a way of life in mexico to live this way and that way is now here.

The more pressure we keep on Mexico, immigration-wise, the more reformers inside of Mexico can be emboldened and empowered to scale back monopolists' abuses down there which keep our own country flooded with economic refugees. Here's an interesting new thread on new legal progress that finally emerged in Mexico I think as a result of immigration reform's failure:

We can make a difference for our sake, and their's as well. Isn't it the neighborly thing to do?
To: GarySpFc
virtually the only lawyers who'll meet that requirement are attorneys who represent aliens in the immigration courts - who tend to be some of the nation's most liberal lawyers, and who are certainly unlikely as a class to be fond of enforcing immigration laws.Unbelievable treason coming from the Senate. Another thing the Senators "forgot" to tell the American people that if amnesty is given, taxpayers will pay 12 billion beyond the taxes we are paying now for the first ten years after citizenship is given, and the amount will go much higher after that.
American politicians who wrote this legislation must be getting one heck of a pay off from the enemies of our country.
