My chemistry teacher once told of someone who once dropped a brick of sodium over a bridge into the Niagara river. When the brick hit the water it exploded and came up as high as the bridge. If sodium does that when hit by water, think what it would do in chlorine?

Sodium is pretty reactive with just about anything. I'm just wondering why this author singled out chlorine of all things.
