Penn State Bans Jewish Student's Terrorism Exhibit
Israel National News ^ | Apr. 23, 2006 | Ezra Halevi

Pennsylvania State University has cancelled an art exhibition about terrorism and the destruction of Jewish historical and religious sites claiming it "did not promote cultural diversity."

The ten-piece exhibit, by student Josh Stulman, was the result of years of preparation. It was called "Portraits of Terror" and focused on images of Palestinian terrorism, hate-propaganda cartoons printed in PA newspapers and photos of Jewish holy sites destroyed by Muslims.

Just three days before the exhibition was to take place, Stulman received an email from the School of Visual Arts saying that his exhibit on images of terrorism "did not promote cultural diversity" or "opportunities for democratic dialogue" and the display would be cancelled, according to the PSU Collegian newspaper.

"I'm being censored," Stulman told the paper, "and the reason for censoring me doesn't make sense."

The school's director, Charles Garoian responded by saying the images "did not mesh with the university's educational mission." He said the decision was made after reviewing the university's Policy on "Nondiscrimination and Harassment and Penn State's Zero Tolerance Policy for Hate."

The exhibit was sponsored by the Penn State Hillel, according to Stulman, and is aimed at creating awareness on campus about the senselessness of terrorism. Hillel regularly sponsors art exhibits by Jewish students, dealing with Jewish and Israeli themes, as well as secular themes.

Stulman said that the director of the school has refused to meet with him and told the Collegian that advertisements for the event were defaced, with at least one sporting a large swastika that someone had drawn on it.

OMG. Absolutely unbelievable!

Did you read the original post? Did you go back and read the original post before starting with this childish, and now crude, bullying posting game?

Michelle Malkin received a bunch of hateful, racist emails.
I linked to her site via a FR thread.

Could you please show this post to someone who can explain it to you? Ickybabble? Pal, if you didn't have a keyboard, you'd have written that with Crayolas. Gimme a L
Gimme a O Gimme a break! See ya...

Our brief time together is over

Apparently not. You feel you can come on this forum and represent that it is "open season on Mexicans Month". This is the standard p.c. ploy of the liberals, that if you are against illegal immigration, you must be a racist. You don't belong here, and why would you want to be here if you feel we're a bunch of racists?

The student newspaper also announced the student union movie theatre would be showing the double feature, "Paradise Now" and "Munich" free of charge.

You're right. It shows diversity. It shows how the Palestinian culture treats other religions and cultures. Very informative.

Do you think if they added some pictures of burned out churches or copies of the death threat letters given to Christian leaders they would approve the exhibit?

You were asking for good examples of cencorship on college campuses? This one is incredible.

It is, and I'm not surprised. The PSU chancellor, Graham 'Crackers' Spanier, used to be our chancellor, and he was incredibly PC even then. He inflicted on us, before he left, a cumbersome but very PC core curriculum that we're still trying to get rid of.

Seems like a clear-cut case for a truly decent and bona fide civil liberties attorney to take on:

The artist's federally protected constitutional right to free speech has been violated by a state agency.

Therefore, a federal civil suit under 42 USC Sec. 1983 would be appropriate, IMHO.

Now would the ACLU stand up and be counted for this abused student? Don't hold your breath. It doesn't fit into their political agenda, you see.

I read those e-mails too. Malkin left them completely unedited, with every foul curse word and racist slur intact, and they are a revealing window in to the unhinged mind of the contemporary Left.

When I worked at a library in Windsor (Ontario), we once had an exhibit on the Holocaust put up by members of the local Jewish community to commemorate the liberation of the camps. Naturally, members of the Muslim community (which by then far outnumbered the Jewish community) objected, and insisted that they be able to put up an exhibit on the "occupation" of Palestine once the Holocaust one went down. We let them, and of course, it was full of foul, anti-Semitic lies, and we were the subject of angry letters to the editor in the local newspaper

Thanks for getting my point on this issue.

I printed those emails out, and made a two page, stapled hard copy that I am taking to Kinko's. I'll order 100 to start, and hand them out in response to the Loonies that make up a large part of Mr. X's professional circle.
It'll beat talking to them! I saw one of them at Mass yesterday (a 50+ yr. old man whose "best friend" is his insufferable 5 yr. old brat kid) and that is what gave me the idea.

Liberal Academia thinks that anything from "lesser developed nations" is "exotic" and therefore culturally valuable.

So for example, when a palestinian blows his ass up on an Israeli bus, that is "exotic" and "promotes diversity."

And of course, they're academics, so their edumacated opinion is worth more than our common sense.

That's why, I'm sorry to say, prayer and religion should not be in the classroom of public schools. You'll have Xtians and Jews making honest well-meaning presentations, then in the name of equal opportunity, along will come the moslems, with pockets full of Arab oil money, recruiting and bribing impressionable, wholesome American kids to join the RoP tm and further their conspiracy.
