INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana's new requirement to show a photo ID before voting tripped up U.S. Rep. Julia Carson on Tuesday morning.
When Carson went to vote in Indianapolis, poll workers initially didn't accept her congressional ID, because it didn't have an expiration date as required by the new law.
But, Carson was allowed to vote in the primary election when it was determined that the ID expired at the end of the congressional session.
Because of the new voter ID law, Bureau of Motor Vehicles branches were open with extended hours Monday, a day they are usually closed. They are also open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

LOL!!! I would have paid money to see the look on that dried up old prunes face when they stopped her from voting, we will all be hearing about disenfranchised voters from this b*tch until November now.

Great idea.ID's required of everyone in the country before voting.Doesn't matter if you're J Chatsworth Osborne or Catiqua Washington.Doesn't matter if you're in Chappaqua or the South Central LA.
Everyone!

Rep. Julia Carson, D-Ind., wears a star-spangled scarf as she visits a polling place during voting
in the primary election in Indianapolis, Tuesday, May 2, 2006. Indiana's new voter-ID law had
its first test Tuesday and ran into a snag moments after the polls opened when Carson's
congressional identification created confusion. Indiana's new voter-ID law requires that voters
have a federal or state issue photo identification to vote with an expiration date which the
congressional ID lacked. (AP Photo/Michael Conroy)

Louisiana enacted a law requiring picture ID almost 10 years ago after Mary Landrieu stole her Senate seat thanks to massive voter fraud in New Orleans. Hopefully, she'll be out on her *ss in '08.

Somebody needs to tell this ain't no rag, it's a flag!
But seriously folks, the only time I got any enjoyment from this old crone, was a few years back when shrillery herself came to Indy, and Carson tried to introduce her. She stumbled over her words, and said, "Now here's Hillary Rotten... er... Rodman... er... Rodham Clinton!" The look on ol' frozen face was PRICELESS!

This woman is a disgrace to Indiana but the people of Indianapolis keep electing her. I find it funny that the workers in her own precinct didn't know who she is. I bet that is a blow to her. She is a buffoon.

How did this inappropriately dressed, can't-remember-to-bring-the-correct-ID, inarticulate person ever get elected in the first place? A 90%-Democrat district? Lots of dead people voting?
That said, kudos to Indiana for enforcing their voting laws.

Wow. I wish this was the law in California. If the illegals didn't vote, then maybe the conservatives might have a chance here. I have said before, the last Presidential election, when I offered my driver's license as ID to vote, I was told it wasn't necessary. I'd love to see a law in CA that required ID to vote.
To: originalbuckeye
Some Dem polls workers almost panic if you try to show an ID at the polling place. They don't even want it inferred that anyone has to show some form of ID. If it got out, they would lose many "voters".

Oh, yeah, public transportation. Must have been.
On a side bet, what you say she used the congressional one just to cause a stink?

Yep! Proud to be a Hoosier! We got this past even with much opposition from the Democrats.
To: Hillarys Gate Cult
Absolutely correct. The Dem stranglehold on California would be in jeopardy if we had to show an ID. Just think, no dead voters, no illegal voters, hopefully no double voting (this would require that voters only be allowed to vote in their actual district). What a difference it would make here!
