Why is it that only people of color seem to have these problems? Must be the genes.
Hopefully her congressional ID will expire in november 2006 when the people kick her out of office.
I don't think it is a flag; I think it's just a design. The stripes appear to be on both sides of the field of stars.
Afternoon NRA1995,
Might that be her "Star Spangled Doo Rag" on de top of her dome??????
Indiana voters who elected that POS, must be smoking their crack pipes triple time.
A real roll model on display for de peeps.
As I See It,
NSNR
Uh, Ab? From the text provided, it would seem the law requires the voter supply an ID with an expiration date. This would normally be required to be printed upon the ID. She doesn't appear to have had such. Why was she allowed to vote? Any ID that otherwise meets requirements without an expiration date printed on it is acceptable? Or is this just another case of some animals more equal than others? (Esp black congresswomen!)
The way I read it, the card simply did not have an expiration date, but they (poll watchers) determined by some "unspecified means" that it would expire at the end of her term, and consequently allowed it.
Either the law doesn't require an expiration date be printed on it or it does.
If it does, it sure would seem her vote was illegal. If it doesn't, then what is the story, here?
Heck, I bet she went there with the ID she did just to make a scene and draw some free media attention.
I may be a skeptic, but I bet she WANTED to get declined so she could go off on a rant about disenfranchised people everywhere, I think she knew exactly what she was doing, and the fact that her picture was taken and reporters were there tells me she staged this whole thing to make her point about how unfair it is to have to show ID.
My husband is a legal immigrant and naturalized citizen from an English speaking country. When he took his citizenship test the official was required to give him an English test. The official was pretty embarrassed but it was part of the process. We have become so frightened about being called racist that we have compromised our own laws and inner moral center. Being required to speak and understand English should be the law of the land. Does anyone think that foreign countries offer ballots in any language other than their native language? I look forward to California being considered a state in the USA again, not just Northern Mexico.
Nah, I wouldn't call you a skeptic. I'd call you an astute analyst of fact.
Staged fersure. Set-up for her challenge and excuses if she loses the general election in November, which I understand is finally a possibilty.
