What's up with WalMart?
Self | 5/6/06 | DH

What's up with Walmart. I just came back from getting groceries there and when I got to up to the checkout area there was a large rack of caps on display and each one had a symbol of Mexico...flag, insignia, emblems etc... I was also entertained by a blaring PA system playing Tejano too, just like every Saturday morning that I go there to get groceries.

I guess that Walmart wanted to sell out Americans to make money on Cinco De Mayo celebrations...the one that Mexicans celebrate here in America with more gusto than the 4th of July.

I have come to the conclusion that we are way past a tipping point and that the Mexican invasion has been successful. Now all that they have to do is complete the victory by breeding themselves into absolute majority by having free babies using our tax dollars.

Last night on Cartoon Network, my son watched Scooby Doo and when the credits were rolling the song playing was Viva Mexico. What the hell?

OK - I've finally figured out that you are being sarcastic...........

And on that note, this New York born and raised gal of Irish ancestry is headed back out to her 10,000sf of tilled field to decide where exactly she will be placing the 500 or so hot pepper plants she's putting in the ground.............all to be used to make salsas, hot sauce, jelly and ristras that she will be selling.......

Ain't capitalism grand??????????

They are in business to make money, not to make political statements.

Right, that's why they don't give money from their profits to political parties. < /sarcasm >

"The madness doesn't stop there."

Your just being plain crazy now.
Mexican food, chips, and restaurants have been around for many years, and long before we had a problem with illegals.
Many people, including myself, happen to like Mexican food.
Are we to go back to those god awful Swanson TV dinners, and Franco-American in a can??? Good grief.

You missed Jiffy Pop! Do they still even sell that? My mom would NEVER buy it because it was too expensive. We thought it was just the COOLEST!

"I think this type of criticism of WalMart or frivolous types of ethnic pride is inane. And it makes conservatives look unsophisticated."

What will be your response when you walk into a Wal-lyWorld and hear Spanish only being spoken over the PA in America?

Lowes Hardware store in Seattle I went to last week has their preprogrammed messages in both English and Spanish.
Their signage is also in English and Spanish.

I expect that soon the signs and pa will only be in Spanish.

You had to expect the knee-jerk response, "Well, don't shop there."I feel the same way as you and will try to avoid a store which patronizes the values of a country that despises the USA.

Our dominant culture with all of the ppatronizing is so much in the toilet that nothing but the second coming will straighten it all out.

So, where is this WalMart, exactly? What city? What state? Is it in a place where most of its customers would be Hispanic?

If I stopped shopping at every store that does something to torque me off I'd have to move into the wilderness, go around stark naked, and live on roots and berries.

We should not shop where it conflicts with our political ideology.

LOL, thanks for the laugh. I shop where the product I need at the moment is located and for the best price. I do not have the time nor the inclination to look up every company's political ideology before I make my decision on purchasing a product. If you do, you've got too much time on your hands. Go read a book or do something else productive.
