NBC4 reports this incident might be related to an 18 year old Centerville man. FBI HRT staged in area.
If I'm not mistaken, this police station appears to be directly across the street from NRO, in an office park with tons of classified NRO contractors.
I used to work 1 mile north at 50 and 28, and did many client calls at that office park.
That's reasonable. These guys are the type of thugs who would take on the police in Mexico. It wouldn't surprise me to see them take on the police in this country. The question still to be answered is why they picked this particular station. And after a few successful attacks, how many other criminal groups will be emboldened to go after police officers and their HQ's or sub-stations? Or individual officers who are on calls or having a lunch break. Or, off-duty officers just doing ordinary things like being at a movie, or mowing their lawns.

Hah. You're right. During the afternoon that's true.
But during the morning southbound from the toll road to 50 is a completely different story. It was the only place (and time) in NOVA where I could push the Z3 to 100 MPH+.
Any online police scanners for this part of Virginia?
