I agree
However, given the reaction in the Arab press in the region, it seems to me Iran's neighbors are becoming more and more concerned for their own security.
Hard to say who released it first. Reuters has a version that they call an "unofficial translation from the original written in Farsi".
As I stated just my opinion. This guy is a first class looney tune. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the International arena and in Iran itself. Most Iranians do not want what he would like to see happen.
LOL indeed....
This statement more than any other illustrates how effective the MSM's misinformation campaign against President Bush has been.
It is wrong on all counts. It shows how little the opposition is willing to read and research and find the truth for themselves. It is a parroting of the same tripe that has been spouted by Liberals and the Press for 3 years now. "If the New York Times says it...it must be true." Bullshiite.
The announced goal of the the action against Iraq and Afghanistan was NOT to find and destroy weapons of mass destruction. These jerks seem to forget that Saadam Hussein himself stated categorically that he had himself destroyed the WMD that he said he had.
Why do these idiots conveniently forget the name Hans Blix so quickly? We all know why.
"My point is that it takes thousands to actually make a bomb. And Iran is 10 plus years awy from that goal.
Even if they do eventually create a bomb...whose to say they would even use it?
Look to India and Pakistan as examples. Both are nuclear powers, both accuse each other of terrorism. Both have a terrible history of violence.
I've yet to read anything that would give the slightest hint of one country wanting to use their nukes on the other.
Iran just wants to puff its chest.
That's all.
And that aint gonna hurt no one.
Especially me or my family."
Iran is considered to already have at least some nuclear weapons already purchased by Russia black market via Ukraine and former Soviet Baltic states. In regards to India/Pakistan neither country has ever threatened Israel or the USA with nuclear destruction. North Korea has nukes and the missle payload to deliver them as far as Alaska. When countres threaten nuclear annihalation, it needs to be taken seriously.
What benefit does Iran achieve by detonating a nuclear device against the West? At the end of the day, the terrorists want something from their Jihad. Osama said to attack and kill the Jews and Crusaders. Mahmoud said that Israel should be wiped off the map. While both political firecrackers, one is definately more menacing than the other. Mahmoud could be talkiing about relocating Israel (to the US, Canada, or EU) as he has before, but Osama clearly wants to fight.
I agree that we should not drop our guard, but I don't see any benefit for the Iranians to pre-empt and launch a nuclear assault on the US or the West. They couldn't annihilate us, and we certainly would annihilate them. They aren't going to convince us to convert to Islam, by dropping the bomb. In Al Queda's case, they wish to die as Martyrs (they are all going right to heaven when killing themselves with us). If the Heavens Gate folks in San Diego thought that the spaceship would only pick them up, if they killed Muslims, Jews, or any other race or culture when they offed themselves, you can bet that there would have been more collateral damage.
"Divide your ten years by 5. That's how long we've got before you can kiss New York City goodbye."
What's eerie is I remember watching a show in 1979 or 1980 that talked about Nostradamus. In the show, Iran builds nukes and hits NYC. Russia is an early ally of Iran but Iran grows powerful and attacks Russia. This could be in the form of terror attacks against Russia, who knows...
Nuclear power has to look pretty sexay to someone who would otherwise employ human waves. That's quite a step up!
I wasn't flaming you. I just stated my opinion, as well.
"Most Iranians do not want what he would like to see happen."
And my point would be that most Iranians aren't crazy SOB's running the country. Most Iranians have little say in what happens.
This letter was formal application of the Koran's final options for infidels, on a nation-to-nation level. Bad Juju.
Bad...Bad...Bad...stuff here. Put this along with all of the recent videos, audio, and print messages coming from Al Qaeda? President Bush in Florida overnight like he was during 9-11....man my stomach has a knot in it. Something is up for sure...nobody sane bluffs like this...he would go down as a hero to hundreds of millions worldwide if he launched an attack on Israel and even if he killed 40-50,000 Israeli's and he wound up losing 350,000 of his own doing so....he would still be seen as a hero.
Somebody better be paying attention because the UN isn't gonna do jack shit...worthless organization that hurts far more than it helps. Let's not forget the military excercizes that were going on off the coast of Iran a few weeks ago.
Let's pray he doesn't start randomly firing missles at our bases in Iraq killing thousands of our troops...launching more chaos and firing missles off at Israel at the same time.
Bad...Bad...Bad...stuff can happen here in the snap of a finger or a snap in the lack of psychological coherence of a certain Iranian leader.
"My concern exactly. This is far too much chest thumping for someone who doesn't have some type of ace up his sleeve.
Lock and load people."
The chest thumping does drive an additional $50 billion a year in oil revenue now doesn't it? Also, they have already gotten backing from Russia and China that they won't be touched.
No No...i did not think you were...Just putting my 2 cents worth in. I agree most have little or no say...OK zero however possibly they may rise up against this nut...but then again there is always another one ready and willing to get their virgins...Truly, No offense taken.
"It would be useful to know if Ahmadinejad has obtained a ruling from the ayatollahs that this letter constitutes sufficient warning within the meaning of the koran.
I would be surprised if he sent the letter without getting such a ruling in advance."
I agree, just yesterday in the news we see how the Supreme Ayatollah said it was OK to allow women to watch soccer. Something this important would had to have approval from above.
Or he has the personell in place in the US to conduct a large coordinated attack. 40,000 suicide bombers going off in subways and busses simultaneously across the country would cause a lot of havoc.
