Inland Valley Daily Bulletin Inaccurate (Border Patrol rebuts Minutemen report)

Inland Valley Daily Bulletin Inaccurate

(05/09/2006)Statement Today’s report by the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, “U.S. tipping Mexico to Minuteman patrols,” is inaccurate. Border Patrol does not report activity by civilian, non-law enforcement groups to the Government of Mexico. During a detention of a legal or illegal immigrant that produces an allegation of improper treatment, Border Patrol reports the allegation and allows the appropriate consulate to interview the individual in custody.

This is consistent with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 that provides consular access to foreign nationals being detained by a foreign government. This is the same agreement that protects United States citizens when they travel to foreign countries.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Border Patrol continues to appreciate the efforts of civilians who contact law enforcement authorities regarding suspicious activity.

Chris Simcox was on The Savage Nation and he got Micheal Savage really steamed up about this.

I know it's a hard concept to grasp, but maybe everyone should wait until the facts are out instead of believing one of two contradicting stories at face value with no further proof either is true at this point.

My dear, our most excellent President is in trouble. Unless he makes some bold moves quick and models the dynamic leadership he modeled post 9/11, the midterm elections are going to be a disaster.

All the good he has accomplished in the last five years can be quickly undermined with a few missteps. This illegal immigration issue is proving to be one of them. I'm getting critical stuff in from more than one solid Conservative source.

I'll defend him with the best of them, but as his friends, we shouldn't be apprehensive in disagreeing with him.

Because given his past actions and statements regarding immigration and the "vigilantes", it's easy to predict a future pattern of behavior.

Did you even read the transcript where Bush used the word "vigilante"?

"...he got Micheal Savage really steamed up about this."

That's about as difficult as forcing the sun to rise in the East.

Give it a rest; you came on this thread acting like I need to prove to you what I said was the truth.

I'm through with you, too.

Well, thank God for that.

Yep. Why don't you post the whole thing for us so we can rehash your silly Clintonian word parsing denial?

OK. I'm going to ask you a question and respectfully request you answer it honestly. Did you actually read the article that started this whole bruhaha?

Somehow that sounds lewd coming from you. :-)

I agree, we should wait and see what the facts are. Even then, there's no reason to attach each other. We're all patriots on this forum.

Savage was without words for awhile on this; stammering, spitting-sputtering trying to talk for a couple of minutes.

Somewhat. I have been lurking for a while. What I'm seeing today is far worse than anything I've seen before. Maybe I just haven't been paying enough attention.

One poster early today on the mega thread was referring to international treaty obligations that provide for notification to consulates when citizens are detained as being the reason that specific info may be provided that would include info that says the MM or other parties were involved and that led to the detention of the intruder/border penetrator.

It's a rights thing.. a legality, in effect.

There was some disagreement as to would it apply in cases like border control, but..

as to the MM, they don't attempt to conceal there presence or intended areas they will be patrolling .

your comment re: simcox taking it personally is worthy of note. we are talking about lives and sovereign nations after all.

Ah, but there's the rub, isn't it?

Some of this forum thing some of "us" aren't quite as patriotic as they are.

When I'm upset with him, I keep it to myself, I have no need to sign onto FR and climb into your pit of despair. Life is way too short for that

lolol, that's rich. That's exactly what you are doing now.

If you're upset with him, why on earth would you keep it to yourself? If you were angry with your spouse or child would you keep it to yourself or tell them what you were angry about?
