I had a cup of McDonalds coffee twenty years ago and I still can't get the taste of it out of my mouth. The new coffee is the old coffee in a new cup. BK just recently did the same thing.

He almost ruined the second half of film for me. I realize it's a comic book and he's supposed to be loud and annoying, but Dayum!

I do want a Big Mac. I'ts not a real burger, I don't think, but it has it's charm when that is what I really want. (And don't even ask about White Castles!) Very good point. I should have clearly distinguished the desire for a burger from a desire for Big Mac.
It is like Mexican Food. My wife is from Mexico and we go there when I want Mexican food. Not El Torito, Abuelo's (yech and double-yech) or even corner "Los Arcos" type place (not bad here in L.A., but not as good as the real thing). But sometimes I want Toxic Hell (Taco Bell). That is NOT by any stretch of anyone's imagination, "Mexican food." But sometimes I want a few crunchy "tacos" anyway.
When I want a big burger -- Carl's. When I want a GREAT burger -- In 'n Out.
I had White Castle's once when I was down South (and really liked it). But I have been hearing on FR that something changed and now they aren't any good. Is this so?

Dudden matter. I still do not eat at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's or any fast food joint. Expense and terrible food ain't worth it.

While we're on the subject, I have a question for those outside of the optics field: How many of you got the reference in Ruby Rod's name?

One, you are dead on Taco Bell. Had a buddy from High School who became a FBI agent in Texas, and he always bought a bunch of Taco Bell (and Cincinnati chili) when he stopped home, because although he loved "real" mexican food down by the border, once in a while, he wanted Taco Bell instead.
I had White Castle's once when I was down South (and really liked it). But I have been hearing on FR that something changed and now they aren't any good. Is this so? They originated here in SW, Ohio, and although I love them when I love them, they're not really hamburgers. (Don't tell anyone!) They're White Castles!
I haden't heard that they have changed, except perhaps that when anybody becomes around my age, "they really don't make them as good as they used to!" ;)

. . .Burger Chef's in Indiana were taken over by Hardees. That is largely true. A couple websites out there give their history, which began in Indianapolis. It took New York's General Foods to tweak them into ruin. The copyright on the name and logo belong to the folks who run Carl's Jr. out west, and Hardees. At one time Burger Chef was second to McDonald's in number of stores. We had one not far from home that was visited many times by my family. A McDonald's now occupies that real estate.
I'd like to see someone set up a Burger Chef with that retro look. Sonic might be today's version of the same.

"Hmmmm...folks complained so long and so loud about the quality of their food, that the corporation decided to redecorate.".....not to mention: workers who actually speak English (and no, I'm not just talking about Hispanic workers......ahem) and have something other than a "get it over with" attitude, AND....how about my reason for not visiting our local McD's right up the street any longer? Answer: They totally blew our orders the last THREE times we went, only to discover the errors after we got home. Screw that.
To: PBRSTREETGANG
You need to order the "Royale with cheese". I prefer "Le Biga Mac".
