ORLANDO, Fla. - President Bush, his approval ratings at a record low, acknowledged Wednesday that war in Iraq and rising gas prices have created "battle fatigue" among many Americans.

That anxiety, Bush said, has settled over much of the nation as people worry about whether the United States will succeed in Iraq and how they will afford to fill up their tanks.

"There's a sense of disquiet because of the war in Iraq," said Bush, in an hour-long interview with the Orlando Sentinel and six other Florida newspapers.

GWB will speak on Monday in order to stop or slow down his drop in approval. His staff has indicated that he will speak on the criminal alien problem. Isn't it strange that for the past several months he has attempted to make criminal alien issues a secondary problem to all others but now has smelled the coffee or read the tea leaves, or, done what he says he doesn't, read the latest polls of voting Americans who are ready to kick the GOP out of Washington, DC.

In another thread I wrote the following, it is appropriate for this thread as well.

The speech has been characterized already as another attempt to make the millions of criminals infecting our nation and culture into citizens, but, the President will reiterate that we "won't call it amnesty....can't call it amnesty" but we know it is amnesty unless they are rounded up, detained (I prefer concentrated) while awaiting deportation (I prefer to kick out the less-than-Americans) and build a wall to keep out the free flowing sewer of less-than-American third worlders and defend the wall.

He will call the plan, "a guest worker plan". Guest workers? I guess from now on, according to the new improved English language, the burglar who breaks and enters your home will now be known by one and all as a "guest".

You all are really insane. I love it. :-)

Ok so let me attempt to make my "newbie" argument:

Several of you said "don't talk to Al Qaeda and you'll be fine." To me that sounds like a slippery slope. Next the govt will be monitoring what we read. But don't read any Al Qaeda material and you'll be fine. Then they'll monitor how fast you drive. Don't speed and you'll be fine.

Aren't any of you concerned with your liberties? I'd rather NOT be watched by big brother.

Carry on with flaming the newbie.
