That's interesting because the folks in California would have you believe they are the only ones suffering. We are just used to the suffering. No one cared when we we're sufferning alone.

Becuase California has already surrendered.

Do you find it distasteful that we have the right to protect our borders to the extent of utilizing armed border guards and land mines? I don't. I find LANDMINES totally unconscionable and that you are advocating their use on our Southern border, I find you disgusting.

We have the right to do that, but I dont think that is the way to do it. Like I said earlier, it is not our policy to kill civilians. Even if they are trying to enter the country illegally. Turning the Southern Border into a killing field is not the most desireable path.
Now getting an Israeli style fence up with the proper amount of personell manning the border makes more sense to me.

You've probably already been told this but many freepers type a BTTT so that they can come back later to their personal pings to continue reading the thread from that specific place (their BTTT).

Reid even changed his "no" to "aye" at the very last second. A few Senators have a bad habit of doing that

Dog,
You said what had to be said. Thanks for putting things into perspective. You wrote much of what I have been thinking lately. I have been worried about ways I could contribute (not financially as I live in NJ and work in NY and I'm getting taxed to death by Corzine and Pataki) to help with the cause of returning Republicans to office in November. I worry about the scary possibility of a "Speaker Pelosi" -- YUCK!!! If we put that thought out there, it should be enough to scare most moderates and conservatives to keep Speaker Hastert where he is.

brutal logic behind his proposed solutionBrutal is right - I don't think working for the enemy does anything but give the enemy more time in the power seat to wreck their agenda on those of us fighting all their prior havoc and trying to prevent more of it.
Defeats all of the work each of us has done to move the agenda forward when some start putting on the brakes to go backward thinking they will make some personal point.
What happens if 10% of us picked an issue and decided to work for the enemy to "show" the GOP, then another 10% picked another issue to "show" the GOP. What is the result?
The result - my friend - is liberalism winning without having to convert any individual. I don't believe in helping the enemy.

1) All I can to keep the America hating evil abortionist Democrat traitors out of power. OK, next question - if Bush's stance on a guest worker program is seriously hurting the re-election chances of GOP House members running for re-election, what do you do then?

Land mines? While that would be consistent with the policies of the old USSR it will never be acceptable in an America which is concerned about freedom. Last I saw there is also little love shown by Americans for shooting down people indiscriminately. Even Mexicans don't provoke such a response except among those who have apparently lost their minds in the wave of Insanity which has been unleashed upon FR.

A slight case of "voting against it before voting for it"?

"..If they were really only "true" conservatives innocently expressing their deep-seated hatred for the president.."
Deep seated hatred even if it's 'innocently expressed'.. is not conservative by nature.. No, I was speaking of people that honestly disagree with GWB.. not rabid haters.
Thanks for your reply.

I have seen the name-calling on both sides of the issue. The ones that bother me the most are the ones that call someone a RINO or Bush-bot if they disagree with the poster or try to defend the President.
To: Protagoras
GWB is doing fine in the judicial department. Find something else to complain about. Oh, wait. Nevermind.
