Thoughtful points on the Hispanic vote in Texas but I think Hispanics vary. In aggregate, I think they are strongly Democratic. But in very conservative states, I think they tend toward conservative positions because of pro-life concerns. Texas may also be atypical because Bush did a lot of campaigning there even as governor so they might have a stronger relationship with Bush than they would in other states like California.

I tried googling up some info but haven't turned up anything very convincing yet. Hard to find paydirt links.

I know you are well above average informed.

Thanks for your kind words.

Time will tell which construction on reality fits "objective" reality best.

I agree and I too think that we will be seeing calls for raising the rate of pay for the illegals as soon as this immigration stuff calms down.

My pet peeve is that the cheap labor helps only the companies hiring these people. The illegals are not able to live and feed the large families with the cheap labor and the burden falls on the church members who contribute to benevolent programs that are overrun with hispanics. And, the welfare agencies all through our system.

There is nothing cheap about the illegals - it is just WHO is paying for it.

THANKS.

I know.

I wonder, often, what it would take for you to change your opinion about that. What set of predictions about that would have to transpire before you'd believe such were really going on?

I really don't think there's any room any more for using the word "theory" about it. Too much has been proven by too many witnesses and even insiders in too many such groups, imho.

Clancy, you and I have known each other since you joined FR. We've been on so many threads together, that I have no idea how many 1,000s it is by now. I have no need to go read your old posts, now; I know what they said and I know who you are!

Maybe you are posting on an adrenaline rush. I don't know WHY you threw in the neocon in parenthesize and obviously, neither do you. But you know as well as I do, that "neocon" is and always has been used by some here, not only erroneously, but as a pejorative.

I never said that you "manipulated" your postings. That Halgr post, which you applauded, was indeed what set me off. That was so covered in tinfoil, it could win a tinfoil prize.

Congressman Johnson told me that he understood my message, that year. And shook hands with me.

He was a POW, and his hands are ruined. He's a real hero.

And he got a sign in the yard.

I held coffees, and passed out literature, and worked the polling places that year as well all of the others.

That was the year that we overturned the local government by less than 300 votes. After the recount.

And I still appologize to Randy for putting him on the council, and to Mayor Day.

No, I'm not naive. I'm a ground soldier. And I'll support a campaign on the ground that I won't vote for.

I will always vote for pro-life, pro-gun, and support the campaigns with blood, sweat, and tears.

When I had a pay problem after a deployment, Rep. Johnson helped me out, even though I've moved out of his district.

We can and probably should take the "tinfoil" stuff private. :-)

Kind words, for a kind, always thoughtful friend. :-)

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses, come down from your fenses, open the gate.

I'll come down from my fences if you'll build me a wall.

Nothing will make me quit FreeRepublic.com or vote Democrat. Nothing and No One.
That doesn't mean that I approve or accept blindly everything said or done here or in D.C., but the alternatives are worse. Much worse.

Thank you for putting that into words; every tenth post should repeat it. It certainly is the way I feel.

PD seems to have considered that reality about most of us here as "unimportant", or as somehow aiding the enemy. "My country right or wrong" will never be an excuse for me to embrace or support a path to its destruction, no matter how well intentioned, pragmatic, "compassionate" or politically expedient it appears.

Honesty up front is essential. We can leave the dissimulation to the State Department.

His home page is not designed to be a criticism. He is definitely conservative, and a good friend of mine

My hopmepage in no way is intended to criticize FR. It's a joke. Jim Robinson knows who I am. We've had some chats in the past.

I still believe there is more going on in our society than just normal politics and it scares me. It would go against my personal beliefs to find Bush a part of it as he is the one man I trust to run our country.

Glad you remember me - so many posters they all just sometimes run together.
