Like when we passed Prop 187, which made all law enforcement officers check immigration status, and denied ALL benefits to illegal immigrants a FULL TWELVE YEARS AGO! Long before illegal immigration was a blip any other state's radar.
As I recall a Federal judge struck it down. Please spare me the California bashing. The President got more votes from here then from any other state, and the Republican party gets the vast majority of its money from here. Not to mention it's the home of this website.

Correct. A Carter appointed federal judge overturned Prop. 187, and when Gray Davis won the governorship he had his AG drop Governor Wilson's appeal.
Yeah, it sucks when Federal Judges over throw the will of the people. And those federal judges were all democrats. So what has California done in response? Voted for the Democrat Presidential candidate in every election since. You want more of the same? Keep voting for those Democrats. Meanwhile, in states like Texas, almost 20 years ago I had my truck stolen by a Mexican crime syndicate. Texans started voting to solve their problems. San Antonio used to be the car theft capital of the country. You know who gets that honor now? Modesto, California. Texans solved their problems. Californians just blame everyone else.
