Yeah, and in reality - the GOP compares the up and coming Hispanic vote against the part of the base that is never happy anyway.

The future of who runs this country will be the ones getting the hispanic vote whether we like it or not. It is not Bush's fault - it is the fault of our lousy government politicians that will not touch a controversial subject until it becomes a major crisis.

Well, a greatly increased influx of Hispanic immigrants would appear to favor Democrats, if the recent demonstrations, as well as current voting patterns are any indication of future voting behavior. It also seems clear to me that they're not going to remain cheap and docile for very long, either. They're going to unionize. I see nothing positive for conservatives in this, other than the presumed religiosity of the group, and the effect that would have on the abortion issue. Beyond that, it's all socialist, all the time.
