Like I've said on previous posts, the Senate & Bush are now irrelevant. Being a native, I long ago gave up on having any say with our fine Senatorettes. The key in 2006 is the House - if the base gets fired up, watch it move even further to the right.

The news coming out tonight is that the GOP House leadership meeting with Rove didn't go well. My Rep and others are breaking with Bush; we'll know soon enough if this becomes the new playbook.

I have no problem with House conservatives sticking to their guns on the border issue, and I'm not happy with the Senate either.

I do however still support President Bush, even if I don't always agree.

I'll stick with the only conservative party with a chance of winning, and try to improve on that from within.
