On tonight's Hardball, Rep. John Murtha claimed that Marines in Iraq stormed a house and intentionally killed innocent women and children in response to the murder of a fellow Marine. According to Chris Matthews, the Marine Corps is currently investigating this incident. It goes without saying that this is an outrageous allegation to make--especially without any proof--and one would think that Murtha, a former Marine himself, would give the benefit of the doubt to our Marines before making wild accusations. Then again, it's been awhile since Murtha has basked in the glory of the MSM spotlight.

MATTHEWS: Draw us a picture of what happened in Haditha.
MURTHA: Well I'll tell you exactly what happened. One Marine was killed and the Marines just said we're gonna take care...we don't know who the enemy is, the pressure was too much on them, so they went into houses and actually killed civilians and...I...
MATTHEWS: Was this My Lai? When you say cold blood Congressman, a lot of people think you're basically saying you've got some civilians sitting in a room or out in a field and they're executed on purpose...
MURTHA: That's exactly what happened.
MATTHEWS: ...not because any of the Marines are scared or anybody is scared...
MURTHA: ...this was not an action...this was not...first they tried to say it was an IED, there was no IED involved in this. This was troops, they were so stressed out, they went into houses and killed children, women and children. 24 people they killed. Now this is the kind of stress they are under. Listen, I don't excuse it, but I understand what's happening and the responsibility goes right to the top. This is something that should not have happened, that should have been investigated, they've already relieved three commanding officers...but this is the kind of stuff...stress is going to cause these kind of things. That's why I'm so upset about it.
MATTHEWS: Congressman, I just want to read something from the Marine Corps and then you can continue. The Marine Corps told us today that they're not going to comment today because the investigation is still ongoing. So they're investigating...
If Murtha were posting this carp online, he'd first be called a troll, then he'd be laughed to scorn, then ignored. But he's not some anonymous online poster; he's a United States Congressman.
To be more precise, he's a traitorous Congresstroll.

Or their families. Especially those of us in his home district. I can tell you that *this* story wasn't on the local news, but that won't help him as it *was* on the national news that followed. Even being the incumbent D for decades isn't gonna "forgive" this "shot".
Seems he doesn't quite realize that this time around, he's up against a credible opponent. There's a lot of that syndrome going around in PA, even today. ;)

Tonight on NBC Nightly MakeUpThe News - Brian Williams and Jim Miklazewski gave Murtha a huge segment to defame the Marines as evil and bloodthirsty baby killers.
Williams was positively orgasmic. He began and ended the segment by gushingly repeating Murtha's " bona fides " to disparage the Marines.
If you believe Williams and Mikla-Murtha is the new Chesty Puller.
The Marines would not comment on an ongoing investigation.
But,no further investigation is necessary because Murtha and Mikla pronounced the allegation as 100% true.

I believe he does, I've read that on several threads over the last couple months. I don't know the details but it's something that's been going on quite a while.
I think when murtha dies (and he will, we all do) Chesty Puller will be waiting for him.
How is it that the good people of Pennsylvania keep voting in this Benedict Arnold? At least I think its Pennsylvania.

The "good news" though, is that at long last, we've got a viable candidate in Irey. The more Murtha opens his mouth, the better her chances are, especially since the "Johnstown arch" is backfiring - big time. ;)

Figured it had to be western PA.....I had never heard of this POS traitor before over on the Philly side. This guy needs his pension pulled and his posterior shipped to SuperMax. He's an embarrassment to the Corp.
The incident is under investigation.
Let the people investigating it do their jobs unless he has extremely credible evidence that they aren't doing their jobs, in which case he should present that information in the appropriate forum. Hardball is not the appropriate forum.
I have a feeling Murtha is ready to push his own self destruct button.
