I don't disagree with you that the Trinity is expressed by "elohim," (that is certainly possible), but it is also used for "majestic" type emphasis in the original language, so, as far as text-proofs go, it's weak.

Why assume that? Makes them smarter in my opinion! :)

You lost me when you said "the DaVinci Code is only the beginning of the uncovering of the mysteries of the universal Christ."
The book is provable junk. It is re-hashed Gnosticism, this time based on a debunked 1950's era fable from a French con-man.
Elohim may be hard to understand, but He does not hide or have mysteries.

D'ya think the Gallup poll just might have been thus constructed -- for the purpose of fomenting division between 'literalists' and "inspired Word" believers?

It is the actual and the inspired Word of God and to be taken literally and symbolically as the context and type of literature demands. Except that your 28% dont believe in symbolism or context. It's either "literal" or its blasphemy.

"There is a lot of prophecy in this verse which was fulfilled in the KJV."
The KJV is a WONDERFUL translation.
That said, there were some sloppiness --- e.g., it's "thou shall not MURDER" not "thou shall not KILL."
That slip up misled a million stupid liberals. (Of course, they want to be misled.)

A god that couldn't prevent mankind from destroying or corrupting his message, frankly, isn't a god worth worshipping. If that's who god really is, then we all might as well start sleeping in on Sunday morning, because if he can't get a message out, he probably can't save your soul.,/I> Dont blame God. It maybe that some people are just not able to understand the idea of a methaphor, etc. Based on what you said above I cant imagine you respecting any God that had to dumb down his message so everyone could get it. That puts you in a dangerous spot v. God.

I am personally surprised that the so-called "literalists" have apparently missed the finely-tuned nuance in the poll questions. The literalists argue their points using terms that would put them in the "inspired" group, and then say that the questions were "poorly written".
Actually, I didn't. But someone else mentioned it before I got to it.

Yes, I am conservative if I must have a label IDing between that and a stinking liberal. But, I am a former member of the RNC. I no longer am. I quit when they went liberal. I refuse to give a dime to them because all they do is elect mostly liberals and RINOcrats. I do not GIVE my vote to any party. The people here who raise hell that IF you don't vote republican then you are GIVING it to the socialist. I do not subscribe to that theory. That is what the RINOcrats WANT you to do, fear, be afraid that if you DO not vote for them, dems will win. That might be true, but the ba$tard$ are not getting my vote based on their scare tactics. I will not GIVE them a darn thing. If they don't earn it, they don't get it. If they lose, that is their fault. Does that mean the socialist win, probably. But, I won't vote for a liberal republican to keep a liberal dem out. What is the difference?

"You know, it didn't take long for the 'the Bible is incorrectly translated' crowd to come out."
A telling check of the accuracy of the Bible is, of course, the Dead Sea Scrolls. With rarest of exception, identical to what we have today, despite the lack of the printing press in the intervening 2,500 years or so.
All that said, we have the ability --- with multiple parallel translations, especially --- to make sure we get the best understanding of the Word possible, and that is certainly what should be done.

Instead of reposting the same thing, try answering the questions.
Dont blame God. It maybe that some people are just not able to understand the idea of a methaphor, etc.
This is where the ministry of the Holy Spirit comes in.
Based on what you said above I cant imagine you respecting any God that had to dumb down his message so everyone could get it.
And when did I ever say that? You must think God is really stupid if He can't even communicate his message. Again, this is where the ministry of the Holy Spirit comes in.

I wouldnt be so sure of thatIn one place the Bible refers to God as having wings and feathers. Clearly this, when read in context, was intended figuratively, as anyone with even a passing knowledge would recognize, your argument notwithstanding.
