Rush Limbaugh Transcript on Immigration (Today's show)

RUSH: Now, folks, as I say, I've got all this figured out, and when I told you this wasn't about immigration, I was right; and when I told you that what this is really all about is the Democrats wanting and needing some new victims, I was right; and when I said this was all about politicians, particularly Democrats wanting new voters, I was right. But I was not a hundred percent right. I was close. To sum this up -- very simply -- what this bill is, this is not an immigration bill. What is being done here is being done under the guise of immigration reform. What this is, is a huge attempt by certain politicians, mostly moderate and liberal Democrats and moderate Republicans, to expand the federal government, to increase the numbers of people in poverty in this country by importing them via this immigration bill, which will set up the need to expand the "social safety" net in this country, which will then empower those who believe in big government.

It is also designed to provide a free flow of cheap labor for businesses that want to access it, and with the few limits on legal immigration that this bill imposes, we're no longer talking just about Mexicans. We now can import workers from all over the world who want to come in for the purposes of achieving and accessing the American dream, and believe me, if certain American businesses want to get labor cheaper than what they have to pay Mexican immigrants, they want to get them from Ethiopia, they want to get them from Sudan, here's an opportunity to do it. It really is no more complicated than that. I mean, you cannot read this bill and conclude anything else. This bill is senseless.

Here's a FR article from 2003. Three years later and how much further have we come?

US Ambassador in Mexico says Amnesty is coming soon

There's a basic issue of fairness and justice here, when illegal immigrants get privileges unavailable to citizens, while citizens get to pay the taxes.

If Bush and Karl Rove can't see this and make use of it, they are either totally corrupted by business donors who want cheap, illegal labor, or they are political dunces.

"By moderate Republicans, let me give you some names: John McCain, Arlen Specter."
I think Rush is way off on that one........
Those two are anything BUT 'moderate Republicans'

Rush was being sarcastic. He certainly doesn't consider them "moderate" either.

Both.

A few years ago I made the point on another forum that it was begining to dawn on the Democrats that they have aborted their base and they are going to have to rely increasingly on the dead, felons, and illegal aliens for their votes. Someone responded that I had written a very powerful post. Man, even I didn't realize it until I read Rush's piece. God save this great nation, because the Rinos won't.

Nightmarishly there they stand, in the Senate, grinning. Those death heads, grinning, laughing at the nation they are deliberately destroying. Laughing at a great people being doomed to poverty, violence and loss of rights. Grinning, spitting on the graves of the our vets, their sacrifices, and still, the death heads grin, laugh, and spit some more.

Local talk show caller asked, "I wonder if, given his history with Vietnam, he would feel the same if all the illegals were coming from Vietnam, instead of Mexico?"

Someone will need to do a lexus-nexus search on this since I can't cite time and place. However, I remember McCain referring to Vietamese commies as gouks. It happened in a political venue such as his run for the Presidency in 2000, but it may have been later than that. I think his point was he still hasn't completely forgiven his torturers.

I have listened to the sound-bite a number of times. Fantastic stuff!

However, Rush doesn't go far enough in this. He always used to say.... if you want to know the truth, follow the money. I say dig a little deeper......

OK..... Here's my take on what this whole "illegal immigration" debate is about and why the government seems to be turning a deaf ear to the people's voices on the matter.

The people see things straight - ENFORCE THE LAW. PERIOD. Stop allowing social programs to be misused. Stop shoving bilingual nonsense down our throats. Bottom line - come here legally and assimilate.

However, the Senators don't seem to get that message. Why? Simple - A different Agenda that our opinions don't fit into.

Well, here it is - my take on why this is so out of control.....

I honestly believe that there is a force out there that is pushing for the dissolution of our borders (both north and south) in order to form an American Union (similar to EU). We have NAFTA & CAFTA already. The economy (business & manufacturing secotor) has withstood the first step of the dissolution. The next step is the labor. Following that is monetary (you notice how colorful our dollar bills are getting, lately?) unity. The final nail in the coffin will be some sort of new Constitution which is "current and updated" to fit the needs of our newly formed continental union. That way, the "American Union" can compete with the Eurpoean Union "equally", according to theories.

All this is is pure marxist theory of governmental regulation (thereby control) of business in order to harness and distribute the wealth equally in our hemisphere. The larger the economy, the more wealth to redistribute.

Of course, it's a long way off until that part of things happens..... but doesn't anyone else see the signs?

Look who's behind the movements for Amnesty - communist and marxist groups. And they're up to the same tricks with the same old "blah, blah, blah... racists....xenophobe...imperialist... blah, blah, blah.....". That's all I need to know.

"Rush is right! His show today was great. Just when I thought he was a Bushbot, he came through for us"

Rush is a serious player in American politics, he saves his ammo for the time that it is the most effective.

Rush doesn't just run his show on a daily basis, he is trying to move the national debate, he'll leave a topic alone until he sees a crucial point where he can give it momentum then he pushes.

Now that this is pretty much a done deal, how does annexation look now?

Well, I hope Mexico only annexes Arizona and the Southern third of California.

There is something going on. I don't know what the outcome will be but it won't be good for neocons and the Republican majority in the Senate. I hope you all know that the elections are now rigged. We have a choice between Democrats and Republicans and the FEC only lets those two parties participate in presidential debates. Once we all realize that the whole system is rigged for incumbents (CFR for pete's sake) the sooner we can take back the gov't.

My greatest fear is that it is so rigged that there is no taking it back. Only what Jefferson said: the tree of liberty...,

I think Rush is superb and I listen to him whenever I have the opportunity. BUT, GW is missing one huge opportunity and that is to find a spot in his cabinet for CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER, possibly the most astute mind in the Western Hemisphere. It might be a bigger job to talk CK into it than finding a spot for him; I'm pretty sure he makes big bucks with his current positions.

If you aren't familiar with him, read him at Townhall.com or listen to him on Fox News and note that everyone else shuts up when CK begins to talk.

He's correct in his ultimate opposition but his rationale' and what he offers as an analysis is not only unlikely, it's totally implausable. It's regretable that when Rush has a chance to lead by intelligent examination he chooses instead to postulate some bizarre conspiracy by hyperbole. He's actually more detached from rational thought and reality than I had thought. For the past several years I just disregarded him with a laugh and attributed his wild pronouncements to being part of his schtick as a pretend entertainer (the harmless fuzz ball routine). But now I realize he's really nuts.

Yep- and he clearly knows it too. I noticed he was directly addressing House members on his show today.

I listened to Rush through must of the show. At one point Rush was told by a staff member that, in fact, Tony was always on the same page as the president.

Also in yesterday's show, Tony mentioned that he was the one who insisted President Bush push for a total immigration bill rather than encouraging security first, followed by everything else.

Tony is being a Rockefeller Republican on this issue. Both by himself and officially on behalf of his position.

It has come to my attention that ALL members of the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE will participate in the conference on the immigation bill..

Our battle is not with the Senators who voted on the "Senate Version" on the bill....the two bill are "oceans" apart.. with the house version being a MUCH BETTER BILL !! our battle is with the Senators who will go to conference with house.. which I just found out will be ALL MEMBERS of the Judiciary Committee and then some additional Senators yet to be named by Reid and Frist !!!...

WE NEED TO LET THESE FOLKS KNOW that we SUPPORT THE HOUSE VERSION !! NOT THE SENATE VERSION !!! now get er done !!

---> for now we can focus our efforts on the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE MEMEBERS !!!

Arlen Specter Orrin G. Hatch Patrick J. Leahy Charles E. Grassley Edward M. Kennedy Jon Kyl Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Mike DeWine Hrbert Kohl Jeff Sessions Dianne Feinstein Lindsey Graham Russell D. Feingold John Cornyn Charles E. Schumer Sam Brownback Richard J. Durbin Tom Coburn

I have written an OPEN LETTER to the conferees and I encouge EVERYONE who cares about this to do the same.... feel free to copy/edit/distribute my letter..
