This is an incredibly cruel disease. Fortunately, there are now drugs that can buy a couple more years of preventing the worst affects, but they only last so long.
Let me see now, how many times have I been married???
She was touted as the most beautiful woman in the world at one time. Long live Debbie Reynolds.
This was one of the toughest things my spouse and I ever had to do. We wanted so badly to care for my mother to the end. Sometimes, things are above your abilities.
How sad. I'll say a prayer for her.
I wouldn't say "POOR LADY"...she's had a wonderful and fascinating life. She lived it big and she lived it full. She was a broad when it wasn't COOL to be one.
Key is that Mr Edward is still in the home he has lived in for 15 years. Hope Liz has that same continuity
That may be spot on!
We are approaching the very same decision. I hope this thread encourages folks who ARE doing all they can to keep their old folks at home. But, time comes......
No it does not matter what you call it. It sucks thanks for your reply
" She may be the most beautiful woman who's ever lived. "
Then again , she may not be ...
thanks
Thanks for your post. Just know as soon as your dad past he got everything back and lots more
Prayers for Miss Taylor.
Thanks for the encouragement. I've thought about looking for a support group. Maybe I really should.
My brothers and sisters have left all the decision making to me. They will support whatever I decide.
It hurts my sister but she understands my mother isn't in her right mind.
My mother takes Namenda which helps a little. She was on Aricept also but that made her worse.
God bless her. My grandma had Alzheimer's... such a terrible disease- to rob someone of their most previous memories.
