Coulter won't apologize for slamming 9/11 widows

...a town where a dozen roadways are named in honor of those who died that day, few took to New York Avenue to protest the bookstore signing of the conservative author.

Instead, a defiant Coulter was met with more than 300 spirited fans at an event broadcast live to hundreds of radio stations by conservative commentator -- and Huntington Town resident -- Sean Hannity.

Huntington Town Board member Mark Cuthbertson, publicly rebuked her as he handed over a letter. "I'm here on behalf of many of my constituents. We are disgusted with your comments," he said, drawing hoots from the crowd.

Coulter ripped up the letter to the cheers of her admirers, an action Cuthberston later said shows she is "promoting hate speech."

Not me. I think Ann Coulture is a wack job. Again, she makes good points but then they get clouded by her lunacy

Some people just can't take it when a gal has strongly held and sometimes controversial CONSERVATIVE opinions.

It seems to me that the reaction to Ann's criticism of the jersey sluts is PROOF of her point. NO one is allowed to say anything about them without being called names. Isn't that her point? duh!

These liberals are using a variation of the "John F. Kerry" ploy when they say Ann Coulter can't call these women out for being political activists simply because their husbands died at the WTC. It is the same as when liberals say it is "off limits" to mention that Kerry is a traitor, liar, and a coward simply because he served three months in Vietnam before he cut and run. And of course, according to liberals, Mullah Murtha can't be called out for being a traitor to his country simply because he once served in Vietnam.

Call me a meany, but I just love it when someone makes a liberal cry.

Will somebody put a picture of Maureen Dowd next to a picture of Ann Coulter? I think Maureen would suffer a bit by comparison. How could those clowns suggest that Ann is a transsexual? NO plastic surgeon is THAT good.

Ok, everyone take a deep breath. Coulter does what she does in order to sell things and make a really nice living. She overstates a lot of things, comes across as rash, brutal and uncaring... without compassion. Problem for most liberals? she is always factually correct. she blows it all up in the name of attracting attention to her product. I can call it almost comparable to what Rush does. I love Coulter's attitude.. she brings the fight to them instead of always being defensive. You never have to wonder exactly what she is thinking.

the statement I keep seeing repeated over and over goes something like this" WHAA! Anne said the jersey girls are enjoying the death of their husbands". Well, when I read the actual text (In full context) myself, this is how "I" interpreted it: "The Jersey girls are enjoying and exploiting the benefits that came from their husbands deaths to promote their political agenda's."

Ok, now WHO can argue that this is false? Well, once again, Coulter is right. she just threw in a few words like "witches" to attract more attention to herself. So what.

It's been 5 years....the period of mourning is long over.

These ladies need to get on with their lives.

They no longer are wives. "Til death do us part."

The parting has happened.

Ann... PLEASE! Have a real coke! Ok, maybe a caffine free Coke, but no diet soda!

And have a burger, or something else that's tasty and has more than 100 calories!

Mark

Puzzles me too so I Google "Ann Coulter" and "holocaust" and get a quarter million hits. In July of 2003 the moon bats were discussing her "next book" going to deny the holocaust happened. They also call her the conservative Maureen Dowd, a transsexual, etc. So, yea, she has a right to be mad and combative.

I notice that the critics you link to aren't "liberals" per se but self-proclaimed "libertarians". The Reason writers often complain that the Republican Party needs to go back to being more libertarian. The truth is, the libertarians, especially the Libertarians, need to get their heads out of their asses and become more Republican-- or at least more conservative.

Instead of fighting for the Constitution, smaller government or laws that respect individual intuitive, they've become snarky leftists who prize their libertine social revolution first, and preening as if they're above mere partisan mortals like Ann Coulter (who's done more for shrinking govenment than most of them ever will combined) second. Forget libertarians fixing conservatism. Conservatives need to fix libertarianism.

Another thing, why is ripping up a letter "hate speech" but burning a flag "free speech"?
