While there is one child who can think for himself a tyrrany can not rest easy.
They need to indoctrinate them ALL.
Shalom.
Well, I wouldn't expect CNN or the ABC/NBC/SeeBS crowd to report on this..... but I'd hope that Fox would be and all over it like a wet blanket. Where is O'Reilly? Where is Hannity?
when they can't beat someone in a debate with ideas and fact, they beat them physically.
^^^^^^^^^^^
Or they beat them by stuffing the ballot box.
It's not our freedom that's at stake.
It's our humanity.
Shalom.
Exactly. He's putting his 7 year old kid on the front line of HIS battle with the school district, exposing him to the negative fallout.
Incredible.
I'd be tracking down a few "parents" and inviting them to take their aggression out on me.
I'm not Catholic and I went to Catholic schools.
I didn't have a problem, and neither did they. I could parrot back the words I was tought in Religion class and they didn't mind that I didn't believe it.
There weren't any Jews in my school that I knew of, but a fair number of Protestants.
We would have gone to the Episcopal school but Dad couldn't afford it and couldn't see the difference was worth the money.
Shalom.
No, it isn't. Just because in some parts of the country this sort of thing happens, doesn't mean it happens everywhere.
It happens in every school: government, private, home. No school is religiously neutral. It is axiomatic. Education of the young IS the transfer of culture, morals, and values, and these are NEVER religiously neutral in content or consequences.
Our public school says prayers before football games and everyone stands and sings as the US flag is raised.
And all the children have learned that the government uses tax money to favor Christian belief and not non-Christian belief.
On the school calendar, we have "Christmas" and "Easter" breaks.
And all the children have learned that the government uses tax money to favor Christian belief and not non-Christian belief.
The halls and rooms are filled with Christmas decorations during the holidays and the band and choir have Christmas concerts.
And all the children have learned that the government uses tax money to favor Christian belief and not non-Christian belief and wonder why their high holy days are not given an official day off from school or decorations.
There is NO possible way that any government school can be fair to all the various cultural, political, and religious beliefs of all the children in the government school. This is true even if the school district were as small as suburban development cul de sac.
There is only ONE solution that is fair to all: Begin the process of privatizing universal K-12 education.
LOL... Is there anything homosexual you do not support?
Well, this would appear to be easy for you to say given the benefit of 20 20 hindsight ..... but you don't honestly believe that Mr. Parker really would have sent his son to school as a pawn in his battle - and that he (by some strange powers that perhaps only you are able to define) was able to know in advance that his son would be be beaten up by a crowd of kids in his grade one class, but sent him anyway, do you? Are you suggesting that Parker used his son in some way as part of his own political statement and agenda?
Where do you draw the line with this? When I was a kid, my daddy used to go to my public school all the time to discuss all kinds of worldly and ungodly things that were going on and that he was dead against. None of this made me very popular in school, I can tell you that. Does that mean that my daddy shouldn't have dared go to the school on the off chance that his son would reap some negative consequences? If this is your view, then I would offer an observation that I don't think you believe there is very much that is worth standing up for.
parents are legally responsible for their children's behavior, as far as I know. If it were my kid I would end up owning every last asset of every parent whose kid was involved, as well as every asset of the principal and the school district .. I would OWN Lexington before it was over.
Massachusetts' Nazi Youth League in Lexington.
The father should immediately:
1. MOVE and/or pull his son out of that evil school.
2. Bring court actions
3. Sue
4. Publicize everything and every name related to the issue
5. Keep making noise and involve the community
Yes. The article gave me that impression.
Yes, this kid would feel much better seeing Daddy go to jail for a few months.
NO! What he needs to do ,is to hire top attorney and go after parents and school.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
and the teachers as well for be negligent.
---I have to say that I'm underwhelmed by Mr. Parker's decision to put his son's physical and emotional safety at risk to make a point about how terrific government schooling is. Frankly, it makes me wonder what's wrong with him.---
Poor slob thinks he's in America.
So being sorry Parker's son was beaten and expressing hope that the perpetrators including any adults are punished is supporting homosexuality?
And knowing the full story from last year would confirm it. Your impression was spot on.
What is even more disgusting is that instead of joining this father in his battle against homosexuality, the other parents obviously dont care what their kids are exposed to.
Massachusetts is one sick assed state.
Take the child out of the school. The Father's first responsbility is to his son...not to make his political stand.
