About a week back I read that Tiger's first baseman Dimitri young has a bench warrant for dmestic violence. He's been on the DL for an indefinite length of time. It's too bad because he's a home run hitter but it appears that baseballs aren't the only thing he hits.
Ditto with the wife.If she's somehow getting out of line then she should be hit in the pocketbook.
Maybe she did get out of line....
The area that they were in is a nightlife spot so could very well have been a case of drinking and attitude. Still, he goes 6'-4" and 240 lbs. No excuse for what he did.
And yet two different Kennedys (Joseph P Kennedy III and Teddy) have either killed or crippled a woman for life and not a blessed thing happened to them.
I will withhold my opinion until I find out more details.
(It's been my experience that the woman often escalates the fight to the physical level, and then cries foul when the man joins her there. I hate that. If I'm man enough to start a fight with a man, I'm man enough to finish it.)

But then,there's the weight differential...the height differential...the muscle mass differential.If a woman were to ever strike me (with her hands,rather than with a hammer) the worst I would do is to try to restrain her so she couldn't do it again.

In the case of Dimitri Young the allegation is that he tried to choke a woman in a hotel room. Basically her word against his. However the warrant was issued after he didn't show up for court.
With what he has to lose here he is a moron for slapping her. Besides the cowardness of the action the fact that she has him dead to rights on a domestic violence beef is ammunition if she decides to leave and file in court.
It is very doubtful he will appear in a Tiger uniform again. The organization has a low tolerance level for head cases and they don't need one in this clubhouse.
That's what I was referring to earlier.If she lives in a "no fault" state,this incident (if it is what it seems to be) won't help her a bit,except maybe with child custody.
I was going by memory but I just tracked the story down. I agree that the Tigers don't need any distractions with "messy" players.

She can file an emergency restraining order
Have him removed from their home
File a separation and get a judge to issue her a fat check every month
Withhold the child claiming a pattern of abuse. Demand supervised visits.
Since she bailed him out I think there's something off about their relationship, no?
