Since this launch is just after sunset, weather permitting and no scubs, it will be visable over a wide area, best views of powered stage of launch, Southern Nevada, Arizona, southeastern California.
Cheer the Delta IV on! her first west coast flight with a secret payload that are the eyes and ears of our nations defense in the high frontier. Another bird to watch the bad guys.

THANKS for the thread.
Great to watch this with y'all ............ God bless America, and caio!
WEllI was looking west by nW, Buildings block my view the other directions.
LOL!!!!!!!
Dang! Went out with the kids and it was very hazy over the Central Valley (we are above Fresno) and lots of light clouds. Didn't see anything and thought it didn't go. Told the kids, "Its good it didn't go tonight because tomorrow the sky will probably be clearer." Get back and check on the computer to see when the launch has been rescheduled. Rats!!
I was looking right at the moon, the sliver,...never saw a thing....big bunch of clouds around it too...rats...
Thank YOU for putting it up. Done bookmarked the home page. Waht a thrill! Would love a ping the next time we go flying again. G'night all.
Nite to you! And thank YOU for that TOTALLY AWESOME LINK!
Hey! If ya go out and look at that "New Moon," you'll still see the staged trail of where it took off. I missed it too because I just cannot get used to being able to see something coming from way down there, so far out to the west. I keep looking for it way more southerly!!!
We watched as it burned across the sky. Got some of our neighbors to look and they were very impressed. Like an intense roman candle far away and just as it seemed to be growing faint with distance the second stage ignited with an impressive plume that was high enough to catch the sunlight.
I like the fact that it was announced by the good guys before the NY Times could put it on the front page. Hah, spoiled all their fun.
Well the Air Force's Arnold Engineering Developement Center is at Tullahoma, TN. They test all sorts of things for Aircraft, Missiles, and Rockets. Most especially propulsion systems, including jet engines and rocket engines, both solid and liquid fueled.
So it's not beyond comprehension that someone in Tenn. would know about rockets.
thanks for the link. see you at the next launch
perhaps they could send one down the gray ladies elevator shaft
I'd pay a little extra on my 1040 for that.
Heh. I'll donate! ;)
.
Yes, it is so very cool watching the ISS move across the night sky in our new 21st Century.
Just like Dr. WERNER VON BRAUN said it would be 50 years ago in TommorrowLand TV episodes of Uncle WALT's 'DisneyLand' TV series.
What a Thrill.
