I've been working on tomorrow's thread, and keep coming back to this one because I can't stay away. But I have GOT to get away from here and have a jillion errands to run - always do on Mondays. Sigh.

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was
preparing to leave the examination room and said,
"Doctor, I am afraid to die.
Tell me what lies on the other side."
Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know."
"You don't know ?
You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?"
The doctor was holding the handle of the door;
on the other side came a sound of scratching and whining,
and as he opened the door, a dog sprang into the room
and leaped on him with an eager show of gladness.
Turning to the patient, the doctor said,
"Did you notice my dog?
He's never been in this room before.
He didn't know what was inside.
He knew nothing except that his master was here,
and when the door opened, he sprang in without fear.
I know little of what is on the other side of death,
but I do know one thing..
I know my Master is there and that is enough."

Re your 188
aaahhh yes indeed!
:)
Blessed assurance is such a comfort, huh?.
To: Billie
Today is so bittersweet.
I keep going to the older threads to review Maggie's stories.
As I read them, I smile through tears.
Our Maggie Marine was one Finest FReeper Friend.

...and this one brought a whole, fresh new bunch of tears streaming down my faceafraid I'm gonna dehydrate as I read through these wonderful responses. A fresh box of Kleenex at my side.
Knowing and seeing all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets Maggie has posted, methinks she'll provide a helping hand to the creation of those in the future. God needs our help here on earth reaching the lost, I imagine he'll accept Maggie's help in Heaven.
Maybe not theologically sound, but I like it.

Clinton's a Liar was GREAT at freeps. She didn't need a bullhorn to get a chant going.

Maggie initially posted this on 3.6.06(Military Monday) to honor another Marine's passing away. For Roger too...
To: JustAmy
Bittersweet is exactly the word.
I say we are celebrating her life & her words today.
