Thanks for the eye opening link and the info. Russia has been supporting Syria as well as Iran, which in my book makes Russia the enemy and an equal partner in terrorism with Iran and her jihadist proxies.

Thank you for your favourable comments.
The enemy of Israel is the same enemy we fight in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The real enemy (Russia) behind the Iranian enemy - hard at work.
Russian and Iranian technicians work inside the reactor building of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, in southern Iran, February 2006. Iran has said that it was still counting on support from Russia and China over its disputed nuclear programme, and warned the referral of the issue back to the UN Security Council would derail any possible negotiations.(AFP/File/Behrouz Mehri)

would you enlarge on that a bit, other than Germany, Italy and Spain that is.The United States used mujahedeen to drive the Soviets out of Afghanistan in the 80s. For a well-written history of how we armed and trained the forces we now fight, read "Ghost Wars" by Steve Coll.
I'm not criticizing the policy decision to give the Soviets their own Vietnam; I'm just responding to your request to enlarge on a previous statement.
Had the Soviets won in Afghanistan and a communist regime taken root there, the Soviet Union may not have fallen apart and it may have taken many more years for OBL to get his act together. But all that would only have delayed the jihadists. They've been on the move for a long time; we just didn't notice until 9/11.

Britan has created Wahhabism as a tool to control Muslims. It backfired badly.

It didn't create Wahhabism, but it definitely used its movement to create Saudi Arabia.

It is not suprising that the Russians block us in every way when we try to deal with their client states.

"Despite possible ideological objections, those communists and other extremists, who remained loyal to Russias strategic mission in the Middle East, were ready to serve it under a new ideological disguise. This was noticed by some researchers by mid-1980s:"
Notice. Some people figured this out 25 years ago. However, this idea is fairly unknown among the conservative mainstream. That is because the Russians have penetrated the conservative movement well enough to consistently deflect attention away. Note how striking this is. It is the central truth of our time, but obscure, barely known. Its level of circulation is akin to some odd scientific theory, of little interest.
Of course, the same Russian influence that deflects conservatives away from this thought deflects them away from the thought that the Russians have penetrated the conservative movement.
I will guarantee to you, if a large group of conservatives would become aware of this Russian penetration, conservative Republicanism would triumph in United States---and ultimately freedom would probably largely triumph in the world. However, this is extremely difficult to do.

I'm pretty confident this is wrong. Wahhabism was created 300 years ago when a cleric named Wahhab formed alliance with a prince named Saud on the Saudi peninsula. This was also the beginning of Saudi Arabia.
The British government created the Baha'i religion. I believe you've gotten confused on this one.

If you find this interesting, you may enjoy reading Anatoly Golitsyn, a former high-ranking KGB agent who defected to the U. S. in 1961. His books are New Lies for Old and The Perestroika Deception.

the Koran forbids the use of force in matters of religion
Patently untrue!
Furthermore, Arab antisemitism was rife long before the Soviets (Russians) beccame heavily involved in the ME. The Jewish settlers in Palestine were fighting pre-fedayeen Arab terrorism instigated by the Turkish effendi from the 19th cen. The Shomrim (armed watchmen) were organized to combat this antiJewish violence. Fawzi Kaukji's armed thugs and the Army of the Jihad (supported by the pro-Nazi Grand Mufti of Jerusalem) were established in the 30s to kill Jews. The Pelmach (one of the first clandestine counter-terror groups) was started to hunt down and interdict these killers.
Furthermore, there were pro-Nazi regimes all over the ME during WWII. Pro-Nazi regimes were removed from power in Syria and Iraq. Iran was invaded because the Brits and Soviets were concerned about the pro-nazi Shah allowing Germany to build air and sub bases there. That Arabs and other ME Muslims were almost univerally pro-Nazi and pro-facist is only explained by their reflexive antisemitism and anti-Westernism.
This analysis is interesting and likely has some truth in it. However, AL Qaeda's (and militant Islam's) antisemitism, brutality, hatred for democracy, hatred for all things not Muslim, etc, is engrained in these people from their births. The real truth I can find in this is that Russians and ME Muslims share some unsavory traits.

"The Wahhabist sect was founded by Muhammed ibn Abd al-Wahhab. He railed against what he saw as the apostate condition of Islam in 18th century Arabia. He gathered together a group of discipiles and in 1744 he made an alliance with Muhammed ibn Saud, who ruled the small oasis town of Daraiya in central Arabia. This alliance was based on the teachings of ibn Taimiiya, a medieval reformer who believed the perfect Islamic society would be composed of two classes of authority: the ulama, who know sharia; and the umara, who wield the political power necessary to enforce it. The alliance between ibn Saud and al-Wahhab became the basis upon which the modern state of Saudi Arabia was established almost two centuries later...".
