In the Washington Times article — you remember, the one the press hypes when it reports to the federal court but not when it reports to consumers of its news coverage — Gertz elaborates that "[t]he documents were supposed to be sealed from the Cuban government, but [unidentified U.S.] intelligence officials said the Cubans read the classified material and learned the secrets contained in them."

ROFL. Well, it would be more appropriate for Wilson to make an appearance on a lowbrow comedy show.

Olbermann's show wouldn't be worth a hoot even if Dan Patrick loaned him Joe "the show killer".
This is a mission for both egomaniacs to try to get some decent attention. Wilson is off his feed and Olbermann is a bottom dweller ratings-wise. The only uncertainty in the show is to see which one will initiate the French kiss.
Am I the only one, or did any of you also get the impression from Russert's interview with Novak on yesterday's Meet the Press that Novak was saying it was Wilson himself who was Novak's un-named source.
Excerpts from transcript:
Novak: "He, he what he said exactly was his wife, his wife had done it."
Novak: "He told me his wife worked in the counterproliferation division of the—they did not say she was a covert operative, didn’t say she was a covered operative."
There's another place earlier in the transcript where Novak said the same thing again, although they have edited it through quotation marks to seem like it's referring to another person.
Bottom line, if Novak was referring to anyone other than Wilson telling him this, wouldn't he have said something like "he told me Wilson's wife was the one" instead of "he told me his wife was the one"?
Novak was dropping hints big-time and Russert didn't pick up on it. The scenario is obvious, since Wilson is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Novak called Wilson to interview him about his prior comments on Meet the Press. Wilson shot off his mouth about how important he was, and how he had been sent to Africa, and then inadvertently let drop his wife was also involved. Novak put two and two together and went from there to Who's Who.
I was looking for it...when FR went down...will look again.
Has this been reported before: last night on the local FOX affiliate, a story giving the synopsis of plamegate said that valerie stated that she had revealed her CIA employment to her future husband joe wilson after heavy petting on their fourth date? I don't remember hearing that before. I doubt that the CIA would condone such action and it seems to show her cavalier attitude towards national security.
Do you realize that if even two Freepers watch that show, you will have TRIPLED Olbermann's viewing audience?
Hmmmmm ..?? If Wilson is willing to play out the lawsuit in the press .. I'm guessing he already knows it's a BIG loser and he wants to get his digs in while he can.

Valerie Plame was outed during the Aldridge Ames spy case years earlier. She hasn't been covert for at least 10 years. They disgust me and I hope their fall is HARD!
I couldn't get on for about a half hour. Just reading and laughing my ass off at Flightdeck's comments. What did Wilson, err, Mr. Plame have to say?

I didn't watch the interview with Novak; he's telling another story for another interviewer. He told me that he had a CIA source and quoted two administration sources. Now he says Harlow was one of his sources. Harlow has said he told Novak not to use Valerie's name. (Then maybe Joe, you shouldn't have put her name in Who's Who).
I think getting the truth out is an objective of the lawsuit. People who have enormous power in our democracy ...
Keith: If you get the truth under oath, but there were no damages, will that be enough?
Joe: It's a hypothetical and I'll leave that for court.
Keih: One critical aspect of the suit is the physical danger to you and your wife and children. She's been photographed for Vanity Fair magazine; how do you reconcile that?
Joe: Novak's wife isn't in danger until someone identifies her as a CIA operative. (Huh)
It's a fact that Valerie worked in a sensitive area of the CIA. (Gee -- why doesn't he mention she was covert!)
Joe says something about Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and others -- I didn't capture it.
The Vice President thought his manhood was threatened. They decided rather than come clean, this was one way they'd justify a smear campaign. (ROFL - since Joe actually bolstered the administration's position, this doesn't hold water).
Libby and perhaps others, Mr. Rove, went around and leaked Valerie's name among other things.
Libby says they wanted to get facts out but they didn't want the facts out because they kept the facts from the president. (Oh my sides)
The Niger claim was baseless. (That's not what you told Congress privately, Joey).
Keith: It's been reported the original source was Armitage. I read an article from Christopher Hitchens who says since Armitage hates neoconservatives,....
Joe: It sounds clear there was a vendetta run out of the VP's office . We know that. We know they were leaking Valerie's name to the press. That's all in testimony. (uh, no, Joe. It's not.)
