Lebanese-American Jonathan Chakhtoura said he was extremely disappointed with the Americans' response. American-American ARMSF said he IS extremely disappointed with a 19 year old punk trashing America because Jonathan is too ignorant and stupid to register with the US Consular Office while traveling to Lebanon. The world is a tough and unforgiving place to live and die in. He made his choice, with Lebanese first.

The Lebanese army has largely stayed out of the fighting, confining itself to firing anti-aircraft guns at Israeli planes. This negates out to nothing. You can't "stay out of the fighting" and "firing anti-aircraft guns at Israeli planes" at the same time.

then I think we will be more secure if we know what is going on Jonathan, may I be the first to tell you what the State Department can not: "you are screwed, and mom and dad can not send enough cash to get you un-screwed".

somehow I think Hezbollah was not planning for this... Actually, I think they were planning for this all along. They want to die to bring Syria, Iran, and then the rest of the world into war.

They do have some neat tanks. Low profile, harder to hit, very maneuverable.. Can I take one out on a lease program???? :)

Sure. Pay 10% down, and make low payments of $30,000 per month...

Lord, use Israel as your instrument to smite our enemies, satan's tools, and evil doers in general. Amen.

Actually I think Hezbollah is being used as a patsy so Iran could deflect the worlds attention away from the nuclear program. They are simply just one of many fronts of the Iranian military. Once Hezbollah starts running out of ordinance, then Hezbollah will start negotiating, but with outrageous demands as usual. The MSM will then immediatly jump on Hezbollah's side claiming they are the ones offering an olive branch and the mean Israeli's don't want peace.
Hezbollah is a Iranian 5th column. The pawns on the chess board for the Iranians. The pawns always get sacrificed first.

Kind of what happened to the Viet Cong during Tet. How many cadre of the VC survived that encounter with America. But the NVs had their political victory on both fronts.
Here, if Hezbollah dies an heroic martyr death then Israel becomes the focal point of the world and Iran's nukes, as you say are forgotten. But Iran does not forget and Hezbollah's death allows Iran the freedom to develop and implement their own Manhattan Project with much less interference. Good Call.

"Every time I call to see what's going on the lines are busy. When they answer, they say they don't know," the 19-year-old fashion design student said. "A lot of people don't know what is going on. There is so much confusion. If it's security they are worried about, then I think we will be more secure if we know what is going on."Who cares what this man purse wearer thinks. Ill bet he's got a pink cell phone, too..

If the UN were to put troops in southern Lebanon they would merely prevent Israel from hitting hezbollah. Not that it would stop them if they really wanted to continue.

. Idealy, sunrise is the time to kickk off an invasion.
2. Press is not allowed at the border except a few escorted locations.
3. It just "so happens" that the Israelis announce, precisely at sunrise, that food trucks will go in (in case reporters in the distance hear vehicle movement.
4. 22 minutes later (22 minutes after sunrise), The IDF makes another announcement saying troops are in, but minimizing the extent (in case reporters hear tanks in the distance).
Sounds like it very well could be something bigger than "looking for tunnels"
