The child should be safe in the child's department area of any store. Its Walmarts job to make sure of that. They failed, a tragedy occurred ,and now they must do what they can to make it right and make sure it never happens again. Some of the posts on this story are disgusting.

Agreed on all points.

There are reasonable limits to what any establishment can do to prevent injury. Wal Mart is a store, not a plyaground. And like I said before, it depends on what caused the mirror to fall. If it was loose and tradgically came down on the child without any action of the child causing it to fall, the Wal Mart is in deep trouble. But Wal Mart should not be expected to make everything in the store secure or safe for children to play with. If the child sadly precipitated the falling of the mirror through play, the parents bear some responsibility for not controlling their child's actions. A store is not a playground and that needs to be taught to parents and children.

You are saying it is Walmarts job to ensure the safety of every child in the child's department of ANY store?

Next, parents will be suing Walmart to provide graham crackers and milk because little johnny got hungry while in the child's department..

I am disgusted by some of the posters on this thread.

Walmart is like the "Low Price Messiah" to them. Walmart can do no wrong.

Walmart needs to be taken to the cleaners on this one. Until it hurts.
