Dingell: What's Wrong With Hezbollah?
Powerline ^ | July 31, 2006 | John Hindraker

Posted on 07/31/2006 4:09:43 PM PDT by Lonesome in Massachussets

Yesterday, Representative John Dingell of Michigan appeared on a Detroit television program along with Republican Candice Miller. They discussed the crisis in Lebanon; Dingell proclaimed himself neutral. "I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah; I don't take sides for or against Israel." Asked, "You're not against Hezbollah?" Dingell answers, "No..."

Listen to it here on YouTube, or use our player below.

If the Democrats win control of the House of Representatives, Dingell will be the Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. He was one of the eight Democrats who did not vote in favor of the Congressional resolution supporting Israel in its conflict with Hezbollah.

He may have a sizable Black Muslim contingent as well.

I agree. Dingell is one dumb and misguided dingbat.

We live in such a frightening day when people like this guy exist, and actually were elected to office.

What's really scary is that his party may once again control one house of Congress and even worse, he may be in a leadership position.

Of course he was trying to get support in Detroit. HezbAllah is big in the Detroit Muslim community.

Democrats aren't antisemitic...

Well, not to paint with a broad brush, but I don't recall any Republican (other than Buchanan, who, as you said, has left the GOP because he's not welcome) running for or serving as president or running for or serving in either house of Congress making an antisemitic remark or gesture publicly in my lifetime. Contrast that with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, James Moran, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Ernest Hollings, the afformentioned John Dingell, Charlie Rangel, Cynthia McKinney, Ron Dellums, Gus Savage, and a list almost too long to spell out.

...Democratic incumbency is lifetime tenure, like civil service, or the papacy...

Or like a federal judgeship!

Publicly, James Baker. Bush One should have dealt with that, he didn't. Even marginally, other than Duke, reviled by Republicans, and the House candidate from Tn in 04, also reviled, I don't think there are any in the last 20 years or so. The Republican Party does a far better job of reviling these bigots than the Dems, who look at them as votes. But no, they get no credit.

So I guess Democrats will boycott any congressional speeches by Dingell, walk out on him, demand he apologize, demand he clafify his position, demand he retract,... just like they did with Iraqi PM Malaki last week.

You hit the nail on the head: they're the party of hypocrisy (amongst other things such as lies and fraud)!

Now wait a second: Did James Baker say anything publicly or was what he said off the record and brought out by hearsay? And wasn't it the same hypocritical Democrats who made light of it (it was only questionably antisemitic, even if accurately quoted) for political gain?

And David Duke wasn't running for Congress, but for the Louisiana state legislature.

Off the record? He said it, like Carter, off the record, and Hillary, off the record. Duke was state, largely reviled by Republicans as he should have been. Other than the keynote speaker at the 92 convention, who thought soome of his supporters should be brought into the party. But then he's not a Republican either. The Congressional candidate excapes me, in TN, 04 I think, bu not worth mentioning.

As an issue, who hates Jews more, Republicans or Demorcrats, and that's really the issue, goes no where.

Tend to doubt it this year. Bush's popularity rating has been edging up the last few months, which translates to bad news for the Dems! Admittedly, though, there's three months to go.

As a Jew, I think the answer to that question is pretty clear, and that's what the other folks on this thread have been saying. The problem is that a lot of goyim can see it more clearly than many Jews who remain addicted to the Dummycrats and choose to be blind to what they see.
