"TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday morning that the state is reviewing an emergency mass migration plan to thwart any potential rush of refugees should instability in Cuba grow along with doubts about dictator Fidel Castro's grip on power."
......"We're monitoring carefully what's going on there," Bush told reporters before a morning Cabinet meeting. "There's a lot of people in our state yearning for democracy and freedom in Cuba."
...Bush said beefed up Coast Guard patrols would turn back illegal immigrants, and urged Cubans not to leave the island nation. Any attempt could be disastrous now that Tropical Storm Chris is brewing in the Caribbean, Bush said.
"That's another good reason mass migration is not a good idea," Bush said. "It's hurricane season."

And here I thought that there could be NO border security without "comprehensive immigration reform" and a guest worker program.
I thought all the Cuban Americans would want to go back to claim their old apartments from the 1950's.
After proper screening, Cubans are one group that I would welcome.
I was watching a show last night on the Americans Cubans views on Castro and every single one interviewed said they considered themselves Cubans, and their country Cuba.
It was Disappointing. Surely not all feel that way, I hope.
I always thought that if Cuba got liberated that the Cubans in America would go back, not the other way around.
The Bush brothers need change places. We want Cubans, not meso-Americans.
Nearly everybody the reporter on FOXNEWS talked to last night in little Havana in Florida wants to go to Cuba.
Which is why the REAL solution to the Mexican immigration problem is to fix Mexico, and as soon as I figure out how I'll let everyone here know.
Wow. Now there's a concept.
"After proper screening, Cubans are one group that I would welcome."
I tend to agree. Unfortunately, it is a little tricky thinking about immigration from Cuba, after the Mariel fiasco. No doubt that was one of Castro's motivations in setting that whole scam up.
When Castro dies, will they ALL go home?
Castro came down out of the mountains in 1959. Adults who left Cuba then, and in the early 60s are now pushing 70, or older. Most of the children who came have become assimilated, as has the second generation.
While a return to Cuba is something along the lines of Holy Writ amongst Cuban expats, the world has changed, and the expats have changed along with it.
Many will not go back. Of those who do, many will discover that Thomas Wolfe ("You can't go home again") was right.
Thanks for verifying that my FRiend.
I thought it strange they didnt interview a single one like you. Im glad to be your fellow American. ;)
From what I understand Castros brother is even worse, those who do go back may be disappointed.
Why are you calling JEB Bush "Jorge"?
