Islam was put under a microscope by the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Before that, although there were more than 1,200 mosques and more than 1 million Muslims regularly worshipping in the United States, Islam seemed a distant, foreign faith to many Americans.

Since then, the demand for accurate, nuanced and balanced information about Islam and Muslim people has grown, as has the number of scholars in the field. There is no official count, but scholars say demand and opportunity for academics who study Islam has risen significantly since 2001. Some say that jobs now outnumber qualified applicants, but note that a whole new generation of scholars is in graduate school. Job postings for scholars of Islam in American colleges and universities numbered 50 in 2002, 50 in 2003, 71 in 2004 and 67 in 2005, according to the American Academy of Religion, which runs an online employment service.

Classes – particularly those on politics, gender and contemporary Islam – are full, giving more students at more universities background in Islam. Knowledge matters, whether these students move on to careers in business, medicine, education or other fields. According to a 2005 Pew Research Survey , people who are most knowledgeable about Islam express more favorable opinions of Muslim-Americans and Islam than people who are less familiar with it.

Islam is a growing cancer in the world and, much like a patient who is in denial, so is most of the world including the idiots here in America.
The cancer now has metasticized to the rest of the body. It is everywhere including Malaysia, India, the Phillipines, southern states of Russia, even spreading to Mexico, France, Belgium, England, Canada and yes, US of A.
In ten years it will have taken over Europe, 12 years the British Isles and in 20 years America. That is unless dramatic surgery is performed followed with a strong dose of chemotherapy to prevent it from recurring.
The Israelis are the only people on this earth that know what the truth is about these camel suckers and I hope they are allowed by the rest of the world to eliminate them. And if Syria or Iran get involved I hope if needed we(USA) smoke their a$$es all the way to Alla-land(new amusement park)so they can all be happy with their virgins.

Unfortunately, those dipsh#ts are in our government, schools, and MSM. They are either too PC, too scared to tell the truth, or lack any education as to what Islam really is, and has been since Muhammad brought this murderous bloody cult into this world 1400 years ago. It isn't a "religion of peace", it's a war manual who's tenants are followed religiously, giving it an appearance of being a religion.

It calls for it's followers to be at war with all mankind, until the end of the world or until the whole world is Islam. For some reason, MSM, our politicians, educators can't read the Koran and hadith, and can't see from history that this is the path Islam has ALWAYS followed, without exception.

War is COMPULSORY for ALL Muslims. Qur’an:9:41 “March forth (equipped) with light or heavy arms. Strive with your goods and your lives in the Cause of Allah. That is best for you.”

No matter how subtle, everything a Muslim does is for advancing Islam. They infiltrate our legal system, schools, government, challaging our laws and inserting theirs.

The nation had better wake up, and soon.

Qur’an:21:44 “Do they see Us advancing, gradually reducing the land (in their control), curtailing its borders on all sides? It is they who will be overcome.”

Obviously we don't. Inch by inch, even if it takes 100 years per inch, they advance, and we appease.

First of all Graced, I'm glad to see your reference to persecution.com. I've subscibed and contriubuted to Voice of the Martyrs for years. I think that is one of the most eye-opening monthly newsletters concerning Islam (and all scourges) and the violence and brutality it creates. A non-Christian would learn much about what's going on the world by requesting that newsletter.

Man alive, the University of Montana must have one heck of an English course... (Missing Egyptian "students" heading for Montana to learn English--yeah, right).

And Nathan Zachary, I'm with you on each of your points and appreciate your references in the Qu'ran that point out this ruthless "religion of peace". I'm still hearing way too much about "hijacked religion" (Islam). I recently suggested to a citizen at the Post Office to study the history of Islam, it never has been different than what we are seeing now. Their goals are the same, their methods are the same, they've never hidden their goals, we've just become so stupidly PC that we have turned into tepid mush and it could be the cause of our demise. But there 's still time to quit being stupid about Islam and start doing something about it here.
