It looks like all of the US state constitutions need a 'Politically Correct' rewrite.

Great post. I never thought about the preambles to the 50 state constitutions before. Now I'm concerned that you've tipped off the enemy and they'll embark on a new crusade.

It would be impossible to argue that what was intended is different from what is written. That is not to say that the usual suspects won't try to.
Additionally, arguing that all the founders of the various states got it wrong (never mind the national preamble), should be a magnificent display of sophistry.
I can hardly wait...

Massachusetts 1780, Preamble. We...the people of Massachusetts, acknowledging with grateful hearts, the goodness of the Great Legislator of the Universe .. In the course of His Providence, an opportunity and devoutly imploring His direction .. I've got bad news for you folks...the Massachusetts preamble is making reference to Ted Kennedy (the "Great Legislator") and his intention to control Rhode Island through his son Patrick.

The Preambles to these States' Constitutions were written by angry, Eurocentrist, bigotted, homophobic, zenophobic, prejucial, WHITE MALES, don't you know and thus, this automatically makes their thoughts and writings suspect and justification to nullify and ignore same. /sarc

In the late 1700s two nations embraced instituted a Republic. One founded its laws on its faith in G-d. The other founded its laws in its faith in human enlightenment.
300 years later one has had a consitent history of progress. The other is a mess.
