Voluntary or forced? Why is this the end?
Very intelligent show!

To be honest I am kind of surprised they let him finish out the week. Most of his guest have really been ragging on wabc radio for dropping him.

That being said I do enjoy his show.

The night original and riveting nighttime radio died.... May WABC management die a slow and painful decline to the unemployment line... All of em!

Who are these people who are so uninformed about the Democrat agenda that they could believe that having one or both houses of Congress in Democrat hands would somehow be "better"? There is certainly the "in favor of gridlock" group, but it would seem that even to them the compromises that would come out of such an arrangement would be less palatable than the current situation...

This is very disappointing. I really hate to see this show go off the air here in NYC. I'll give the replacement a fair chance but I'm going to miss this program.

The guy is a bit melodramatic, but it's a quality radio show, and he deals with important things in straightforward and commonsense manner which is lacking nowadays.

In SF they run it from 3-5 am... good eats for a west coast insomniac.

Thanks for posting the thread. I liked his eclectic style, but stopped listening to him a couple of weeks ago after he went off on a long rant on why we should cut and run immediately from Iraq and why President Bush should give in and compromise with the Democrats in the interest of, well, bi-partisanship!

I was really hacked at him for his cut and run statement but got by it just to listen to his guests. Best lineup out there.

I hope he gets back on somewhere in the same timeslot.

May WABC management die a slow and painful decline to the unemployment line...

Why slow? Why pay them unemployment compensation?

Last night he was rolling in his misery of leaving... then going on with Congressman Anthony Weiner as being the 'next mayor of NYC'... kinda weird... Weiner is truly named.

I spoke to PD Phil Boyce. The cancellation came from ABC Network and was not his decision. Realated to poor demos, in spite of good ratings.

I love-loved his show,..and will be looking for his return in whatever forum.

The replacement is going to be a delayed broadcast of Laura Ingrham's show.

I have enjoyed Batchelor a lot, and occasionally I have found him very frustrating. He has a great roster of guests: Victor Davis Hansen, Larry Kudlow, Malcom Holmlein, Aaron Klein, Yossi-whats-his-name, John Loftus, and on and on. Sometimes he gave too much time to such as Katrina VanDenHeuvel - which is the frustrating part.

If I'm not mistaken, he came on after September 11 on an interim basis, and has been on since. Maybe he just needs a break?

P.S. He has excellent taste in his bumper music. Hell, sometimes I woud listen just to hear the theme from THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN!

I wonder if it had something to do with his segments about Rudy???

I remember his first night of radio on wabc was Sept 12th, 2001. I was listening and there was a bomb scare at Madison Sq.Gardens and they were asked to evacuate. He refused to do so.

Can you explain what ' poor demos ' are? I honestly don't know what that means.
I sure will miss JB.
