I didn't know if there was a west coast version of this thread. It didn't make sense to post on thread for the show that was almost over on the East Coast.
Yup.... you nailed that.
Was just thinking as I was watching this last scene when all the future hijackers meet.....those actors come home one day and say...."Hey Mom...I got a part in a movie!" :o LOL!
I was put off though by the "grading" at the very end, showing the precious grades given to government by the 9-11 commissions, showing the D's and F's. What is this, kindergarten??? All the commissions precious bad grades, and still we're not attacked. They say not enough is done in airport screening, and no one can get so much as a toothpick on a plane if they're not supposed to. And most of those F's are pie in the sky stuff that they recommended without saying how to do it or pay for it. It's dirt easy making recommendations when you don't have to pay for it or hammer out a shread of the logistical issues in implimenting it. That was the weakest part of the movie. The value of grading assumes that those giving the grade are qualified at assessing abilities and recommending improved courses of action for better results. I fail to see how anyone on the 9-11 Commission, ANY OF THEM, are so qualified that they know better then the people in the Bush administration making decisions how to protect the country. If they're so good and so smart, why then were they not chosen for positions in government to make the big decisions huh? The commission has read too much of their own press when it comes to their importance and intellect in protecting the country. They make suggestions, but it's the Bush adminsitration and intelligence and law enforcement agencies that have actually done the JOB of keeping America safe and preventing ALL attacks the past five years. THAT'S a fact.
There they are, in flight school!
Massoud knew there was a threat to aviation but not specific. They are talking about how everything had been cut. I wonder if people will know it was Clinton who cut it. The guy is sitting in front of an ancient computer. Now here's Condi saying that President Bush is determined to fight Al Quaida... we never heard the Clinton bunch saying that.
"He was one of our "truest allies",
I have already seen the 2nd part, but wanted to ask you who was the guy who said this? Both nights watching this I kept missing his name.
Thanks for any help.
Probably some legal reason we couldn't obtain it and scan it.
I really, REALLY hate how that happened with Massood, I remmeber that when it happened, but I sure didn't realize he was like that. He really was a good friend to America. Lord only knows what it would have been like in Afghanistan with him leading Afghani forces by our side with American and British forces as we engaged the Taliban, him leading the effort on the ground while we attacked from the air, landing special forces. Things would have been so different in Afghanistan, better then they are now, and it's not a disaster now. What a great ally. :(
Great points, TP8. I will read your post thoroughly later!
Thanks, Enterprise. I made the "jump"!
My son said, "Gosh those guys are dumb!"
Oh thank you, a West coast live thread. First time I've seen one on this board for us west coast folks.
We had one last night too. I put it in Breaking News but the Admins thought better. Ah well. :)
Your son is very wise! Dumb, arrogant, and incompetent. God in Heaven, how many more like these do we have in this Government!
And welcome!
Whew. I was worried. Star Trek control told me the beaming technology had some bugs in it.
Missed it seeing it last night, but then i wasn't much on the computer when the movie started since I was busy trying to clean up my kitchen. 8 pm is not always a very convenient time around here to sit and watch tv and be on the computer.
I haven't heard when, or if, but when it becomes available we need for someone to start a thread reminding everyone that it is available.
I don't want it necessarily for myself, but for posterity. It's important that they know and remember too. After all, freedom won't be free for them either.
In our part of the U.S., Clarke just got "reassigned." Of course, it was not a demotion. I was hoping maybe Beyonce would play the part of Condoleeza.
