Woman Escorted From Maryland High School.
A Maryland substitute teacher was arrested after an alleged anti-Islamic tirade in front of high school students.
Carol Joan McVey, 49, was charged with resisting arrest, trespassing, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
Police said McVey became upset when she heard some students at Gaithersburg High School, who were being assisted by another teacher, practicing a speech and using some Arabic words.
The Washington Post said she reacted after overhearing the group utter an Islamic greeting of peace.
Charging documents allege McVey shouted, "Islam doesn't mean peace, it means killing everyone for peace" and "Because of you, our families died in New York!"
It's not known if anyone who heard the remarks is Muslim.
Authorities said McVey went to the school office to express her displeasure about the speech and the assisting teacher and was told by the principal that her services were no longer needed at the school
Police said she refused to leave and was escorted from the school by the educational facilities officer.
While being escorted from the building, McVey allegedly yelled at a Hispanic teacher about the inappropriateness of speaking to students in languages other than English.
Once the substitute teacher was outside, police said she allegedly tried to re-enter the school and the school's educational facilities officer attempted to place her under arrest, but she resisted and an additional officer was called to assist.
Police said McVey was released on her own recognizance.
Off her meds?
Someone has to ask: So what's her screen name?
Looks like she needs a little bit of soma to make her more comfortable with dhimmitude.
I wonder if she had friends/relatives lost 5 years ago...
hmm. I don't know about this, but I recall distinctly that, in 6th grade public school, the only religion I learned about was Islam.
I sympathize with her views, but it was the wrong way to express them. Subs have no power to change PC attitudes at a public school. Expose what they are doing, maybe, and let the district or the school take some heat, and maybe you can do some good. Failing to leave when asked, and you are just committing a crime and making your views look bad.
That poor woman. As an American, the leftist a-holes at the school can rest assured that she won't be strapping bombs to her chest and returning to the school--we have no assurances of similar restraint from muslims.
I'd say this is a case of the system making an otherwise normal person insane! In-SANE, I tellz ya!
Had the teacher uttered Anti-Bush Vitriol, doubtless she'd have received a commendation from the School Board.
It's refreshing to hear about a teacher who is not a communist, but she needs to switch to decaf.
Sounds likely...
" if she had friends/relatives lost 5 years ago..."
Those who don't conform must be eliminated..........
Religion of Peace...
I don't disagree with her opinion of Islam, or of the use of English in the United States, but this is goofball behavior.
It is not surprising that this happened in the People's Republic of Montgomery county.
How ironic...when the First Amendment guarantees POLITICAL speech, not the smut and cursing that is protected by our faulty interpretation of this amendment. This teacher's right to political speech was taken away when she entered the school, of course, as was freedom of religion for everyone but Muslims. They are the only group in public schools that can practice their religion on campus.
What part of this isn't true? The woman has obviously had it with the deadly PC bullcrap they teach in school. Which outlook would be better for America in these times, Miss McVey's, or the PC liberals who were "offended" by her anti-islamic sentiments and had her taken away by the police? If you answer the latter, then you make my case that we are our own worst enemy and islam will prevail over us because of our blinding, PC stupidity.
