Former [UVA Football] Teammate: George Allen Stuffed Deer Head into Black Fmaily's Mailbox

US Senator George Allen is responding to more allegations of racist behavior.

The latest comes from a former college teammate.

Former teammate Doctor Ken Shelton says, "Allen said he came to Virginia because he wanted to play football in a place where 'blacks knew their place.'"

"He used the N-word on a regular basis back then," said Shelton, who was in Salon.com.

During a hunting outing with Allen and another teammate, Shelton says Allen drove the three to a black neighborhood and "he proceeded to take the doe's head and stuff it into a mailbox."

Bishop Gerald Glenn says he used to see Allen as a Confederate flag waving redneck and has talked to the senator about his perception problem in the African American community.

While the two still disagree on key issues, Glenn says assassinating Allen's character does nothing for the voters of Virginia.

Allen told reporters today that he and Doctor Shelton weren't close and haven't spoken to each other in more than 30 years. Other teammates have released statements saying they've never heard Allen use racial slurs.

Allen's approval rating is down in the latest poll released today by SurveyUSA. The poll was taken last week, so the numbers do not reflect possible reaction to the Salon.com article.

I disagree, romney had stumbles during his 2 campaigns and didn't handle them as well as slick as his supporters seem to think he would a future one. Theres also a big difference, romney has never faced the kind of scrutiny allen has. Better allen gets this now and knows how to deal with it in '08. Make no mistake, in '08 dems will come after romney (if hes the nominee) with just as much and he will stumble. Allen if he's our nominee will likely respond much better.

This race has turned into a great way to prep allen for a presidential race, something none of the other '08ers have going for them. He can turn around in '08 and say look, i won in a purple state against a moderate democrat who ran against the war, and i was able to get past the media barrage against me.

Problem with being too polished is that it makes you seem inhuman. Do you really think somone as scripted as romney could pull a bullhorn moment like george bush did? I doubt it. I could see rudy or allen doing it, but certainly not romney. Mccain on the otherhand.... i can see him just having a meltdown.

One of the many ways Democrats use to steal elections--lie about the GOP nominee and call him or her a racist. That'll get the media going and the sheeple will follow.

The work macaca is also used in the Philipines. I have yet to know what the word means in their language because I have not been able to find the Filipino translation. Actually, the word makaka has several meanings in the Polynesian language. The word "stiff" would be an appropriate meaning. Also, for you plant lovers, The Makaka plant is a species of the Maidenhair plant: Adiantum aethiopicum. Once again, Sen. George Allen nails it: this person is indeed a "plant."

Nah, he only eats the hearts out of the kittens, he throws the rest of the meat away. That is wasteful! But on the other hand he makes socks out of the fur. <//;9)//>

I live in West Tenn. Every other mail box, yard, and pickup , not to mention thousands of shirts, caps and just about anything else you can think of has a deer either in it or on it.

Yes. That's because I'm familiar with the practice of combining "Mac" with another word, to make up a name on the spot.

However, he didn't exactly "make it up" since he'd heard the staff calling the stalker with the camera that very same thing at an earlier time.

It's someone on his staff who makes up names.

Someday when you are startled by something, stop to think what your name is. OK?

Well, actually Nixon was born in Yorba Linda! But, went to high school and college in Whittier. Also, married a Whitterite.

And, he's buried in Yorba Linda, right? At the Library ~ where they moved his boyhood home, including the old furniture and kitchen stuff.

This is one of the best museum/libraries I've seen for a President. Guy had some rich friends Fur Shur.

But it was 115 degrees the day we visited.

I have never visited the Library, but my cousin who lives in Yorba Linda wrote a poem for the dedication and read it at the ceremony.

Nixon and his brother owned a wonderful drive-in restaurant (Nixon's) in Whitter where all of kids hung out.

Really bothers me the way things turned out for the Nixon's.

Guess what? It seems that this whole story of Allen doing this is ripped off from a more recent incident in the area:

http://www.wral.com/news/5893016/detail.html

Also, the claim was that the prank was inspired by The Godfather, but that film hadn't even come out yet at the time Allen was alleged to have done this.

This whole thing is about '04 for the Dems (revenge against Allen for chairing the NRSC and knocking off Daschle) and about '08 for some GOPers (Weekly Standards, some bloggers, some Freepers) who are looking to damage Allen so as to help their preferred candidate (many of them Romney backers.)

To the GOPers, I say knock it off until after Nov. Let's hold this seat and hold the Senate. There's plenty of time for primary politics afterwards.

Either that or we are suddenly being invaded the most naive, weak-kneed, wishy-washy republicans ever hatched. Not that I am sure that there is much difference.

Anyone who is willing to throw one of our guys overboard on the word of the enemy is not on our side.

Nixon's boynhood home was not moved to the library. His father built it there.

In 1912, after purchasing about nine acres in what is now Yorba Linda to start a citrus farm, Frank Nixon built the house from a kit. A few months later, on January 9, 1913, Richard Nixon was born at the house. The farm later became the site of a school, which, in turn, became the site of the library.

Thne notion that the house was moved to the library is a myth that simply will not die. I am a docent at the library, and scarcely a shift at the Birthplace goes by in which someone doesn't ask about the house being moved.
