My guess is that this dirtbag (Foley) will "unload" on the Republicans. He will start pointing fingers, and the media will do its thing.I don't think Mr. Foley is that type of person.

They don't. However, if you're using a general IM client like Trillian, which handles, AOL, Yahoo, MSN, etc., all history is logged.

Not necessarily. Trillian (IM software compatible with all IMs) caches every single IM on the host computer if you do not turn off the option. Yahoo IM also has this. I'm more worried about the security of the congressional network.

Alot of freepers are reminding me of democrats when the Clinton scandal broke. Instead of concentrating on what Foley did... they are running around like headless chickens screaming "vast left wing conspiracy" and expending alot of energy spinning conspiracy theories trying to blame the messenger instead of agreeing that Foley was wrong no matter who or how the story was leaked.

Even if you found out the Hilary herself was responsible (and personally I don't think she is as omnipotent as many freepers give her credit to be)...it does not change the fact that this is Foley's mess. He did it to himself.

There are laws, one of which Foley apparently helped author or pass, that criminalize using the internet to "entice" minors into sexual situations. My understanding (I haven't reviewed the statute) is that such situations include "internet sex" and sexually graphic or solicitous conduct. There also is an IM where Foley apparently invites two underage guys to his house for a drinking (and whatever) session.
