Anyone who has ever attended a major convention can tell you otherwise. Oh, the things I have seen middle aged married men do, especially when the liquor flows.
As a longtime Vegas Veteran, I can tell you -- it's painful to watch.
You did touch on an interesting thing though -- the growth of so-called "gentlemen's clubs" is astounding. You'd expect a bunch to exist in NYC, but that number is dwarfed by the quantity to be found in mid-sized cities out in middle America. Something really screwy about that...
***Its inappropriate, disrespectful and obscene. Give me 40s style dancing. Now's that's decorous, elegant and uplifting! ***
You mean like "shimmey dancing"? How about boogie woogie!
I still remember when the twist was banned!
In the 70's it was the "freeky deeky" or something like that. Nothing ever changes.
"There really is no slippery slope -- if there were, then the world would have ended years ago. As it is, there are only trends that come and go..."
When, in this nation's past pray tell, was dry humping like dogs in a back ally the trend? What past trend do you suppose will be the next generation's form of rebellion to replace simulated copulation on a dance floor?
So, you're suggesting that there should be no age criteria to discriminate between adults and non-adults? Sounds like a recipe for "NAMBLA nirvana"(!)
The dance is performed where voters get on their knees and open their mouths, and Democrats stand in front of them.
You assume a type of moral entropy that doesn't exist. A lot of other factors play into it, such as economics, technology, geography, demographics, etc. etc.
"Fifty years ago kids horrified their parents by chewing "gum" and using "slang." Now it's dry-humping on the dance hall floor. See the similarity?"
no, but cleaning glasses and looking again
I'm with you on this!
HMMM. Maybe my honey and I need to watch more MTV and less FOX. LOL!
I have been thinking of taking dance lessons with my husband and love something graceful and classic with a bit of energy. Any suggestions?
And the Hustle!! (with my Farrah Fawcett haircut....)
Tango! Oh, if only I could find a dance partner. The tango isn't just dance, it's an art form ;-)
Yes, this sort of degeneracy is the inevitable result of a society awash in all forms of pornography.
"Its inappropriate, disrespectful and obscene."
I agree.
Absolutely.
(Can I go back to High School? I think there's some things I need to brush up on...)
"I ain't gonna bump no more with no big fat woman"...Joe Tex
Hey, it wasn't so easy for a boy back then either. If we did end up in a slow dance, it was a nightmare. Being a pubescent boy, And basically hugging a girl while swaying back and forth - well, nature happens.
Think about baseball, think about baseball...
Ooooooo, the threat of the teenager. So, if they won't go if they can't "freak" then do away with dances in school altogether. I bet they'd soon agree to the rules. And if not, so what? It's their loss, not the school's, who has to do all the work anyway.
My mother has always said that the worst thing you can do for a teenager is to be afraid of them. As soon as you do they have the upper hand. This girl sounds like she has too many adults afraid of her, and she's learned how to play that. I hope the school calls her bluff.
