Pray for President Bush

Revelation 21
1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Dear Lord and Heavenly Father, I come to You this afternoon looking to You, the Author and Finisher of my faith, to move in this world of ours, causing Your justice to prevail even while some push for injustice. Father, I look at this world and it is full of lies and distortions. From our news media and the news medias from the world we see half truths and outright lies about what is going on. We see a reluctance to report on that which goes against a liberal/globalist grain; and we see Your truth subjugated while falsehood is exalted. People are dying and being attacked all over the world because of one false religion which was born of violence and reigns in violence still. And yet, people are afraid to speak the truth that might cause those in that religion to examine themselves and perhaps repent. Father, may the Truth get out.

I look at the situation in Iraq, which from news reports appears to be a complete and total mess. Perhaps it is. But there has also been much good that has been done. The Iraqi people know that our boys aren't there to harm the Iraqis. In fact, many of them love and celebrate our being there. Yet, the news media and the democrats will celebrate no victories but would rather submerge themselves in falsehood in order to gain power over this nation. Dear Lord, what have we become? People are in danger and few seem to care.

Lord, I look at our President and the attacks he has faced. Certainly, he has not been perfect but none are. I have disagreed with him on some issues, but have been pleased with him on many and praise You that we have someone who at least consults with You on a regular basis and cherishes others prayers on his behalf. Lord, he is Yours and they hate him for it. Protect him. Guide him. And strengthen him less they make him too weary to go on.

Finally, I pray for the elections coming up. The very lies I have spoken of are seeking to influence things electorally. And, as I sit here, my hearts inclination is to say let all the Democrats lose and the Republicans win. But Lord, I do not want us to win if winning means thinking we did it ourselves and don't need You. So, having close races doesn't bother me. We do need You. May our politicians recognize this. May they be men and women of integrity, regardless what side they are on. And, may we get leaders that truly are leaders, not self-serving opportunists from either party.

Lord, Your people perish for lack of knowledge. Fill them with the knowledge of Your truth this very day. Mobilize them to the polls in November. And may this nation go YOUR way, not their own.

Lord we love You. Glorify Yourself in us and through us I pray, In Jesus' magnificent name, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

We thank you that You gave us this great country where we can freely worship You and can vote in our leaders. I pray that Christians come out to vote in larger numbers than every before. Those who are considering staying home, remind them of what could happen; more judges who make laws that goes against Your will, homosexual marriage....I pray that You would urge the hearts of those who are angry at a few and are willing to punish many because of that. Give them a clear mind to think through the results.I pray people (even nonbelievers) would vote for godly men and women who put You before anything else.

I also pray that you close the mouth of those who lie and slander the president and godly men and women because they follow Your will and do not change as the culture changes. "Destroy, Oh Lord, and divide their tongue." Expose the media and there liberal agenda. Don't let people to believe lies, open there eyes.
Father, be with President Bush and every godly leader who is being persecuted for Your sake. Let them stand strong and always do what is right. Forgive this nation for becoming complacent and allowing sin to become law. Show us the way and help us to do Your will always.
